Summary: Their lungs would seize at the thought of danger toward one another.
Blush : Noun : A reddening of the face, especially from modesty caused by the increase in superficial facial blood volume. Increase blood means increased oxygen, and Hinata always worried if she was close to having a panic attack every time Naruto even brushed by her. Kiba once joked that if she and Naruto ever got together and tied the knot she would be the very definition of a ‘blushing bride,’ Shino had even second the notion.
Yet, as bad as if was when Naruto was near, with her blushing and her breath shortening in anticipation and anxiety it was even worst when he was gone. When Naruto was on an outside mission, or a training trip, Hinata would forget how to breath regularly. Her team, along with Neji-niisan, would worry constantly for her health in their own ways, but they were all the same with their significant others if not as bad. Perhaps it was because of how much Naruto and she had suffered through life that made her loose breath when he could be endanger, flashes of possible outcomes flooding through her heart.
She would take blushing, and fainting over not being able to grasped life’s breath and hold it in her lungs. Though they were both ninja and lead dangerous lifestyles, even though Naruto seemed to like tangling with the worst there was out there. Always hunting for bigger, better, dangerous missions and leads on a traitor best left forgotten. So her team would distract her every time there was even a hinted whisper that Naruto was out and face first in danger again, for Hinata couldn’t breathe when he wasn’t around.
Naruto loved his precious people, willing to sell every piece of his soul and sacrifice his life for all of them. While this mind frame would make for a terrible ninja, as a heart a ninja does not make, it would make him an awesome Hokage for they are meant to care for their people. Thus when one was missing, such as Sasuke, which was a taboo subject, his breath would go far in his lungs and not expel. Naruto was no stranger to panic attacks, he had several thanks to this village and now Sasuke’s defection along with Akatsuki in the mix. However, this was different, when one of his precious people were out of his range of compatible safety his lungs would freeze. Yet, it was much worst when his precious females left out of his range, not because they couldn’t protect themselves for Sakura would kick his ass for even thinking such things, it just he was a noble soul and just wanted them where he could keep a simple eye on them. Actually he hoped none of the females he knew ever heard him because they could be quite vicious, Tenten with her weapons, Temari with the fan, Sakura with her strength along with Tsunade, Ino with her mind techniques, and Hinata with her gentle rebuke. No, Naruto was quite happy where his head was at the moment, thank you very much.
However, Hinata worried him the most, with her low confidence enemies could take her apart easily if her team was not around. So every time a whisper of her going out on a mission reached his sharp ears his lungs locked down, and oxygen stilled in his blood. It got so bad that he requested to go on missions with her from Tsunade, though Tsunade would smirk evilly sometimes, but he had gone on an increasingly amount of missions with Hinata none the less. The oxygen would resurface and he found the rhythm of breathing without needing resuscitation or Kyuubi’s intervention. This weakness scared him, as how could he survive in this world if his breath left him whenever Hinata left the village?

Tsunade would always hint at his anxiety being there for a deeper reason, she never shared what this reason might be, as she always said it was for him to figure out alone. She did inform him while it does get better, it never ever fully goes away, well this information did nothing to settle him.
