Naruto had never considered himself to be a poet or even a romantic, but Hinata had been catching his attention lately with such notions. Running a tan hand through his spiky golden-blond hair he gazed into the sky. His blue eyes caught a flutter of wings and he smiled slightly before stretching.
That’s what Hinata seemed to be to him, a butterfly. Exotic in personality and looks, she was a dark beauty, and a sweet person at heart. Much like a butterfly, but like a butterfly she was fragile, and would fly away at the harshest motion. She was dainty, if he could say that, but she also had a inner strength that gave her flight. Yes, Hinata was a beautiful butterfly, and speaking of said butterfly she was suppose to be here with lunch...
Hinata watched from a nearby tree, still not completely grown out of the habit. However, she caught the blond glancing around she figured she better approach. "Naruto-kun." She called gently and the boy glance up from his laying position with a grin.
"Hey Hinata." Naruto greeted while gesturing beside him. Carefully she kneeled beside him and place down her burden of lunch. For a few seconds they stared into the sky with a contemplating expression, before a wet drop had them glancing upward toward the clouds. Then the heaven’s opened up and rained began to pour.
Naruto hurriedly grabbed everything including Hinata and sprinting for the cover of the canopy that the trees of Konoha offered. Hardly wet they settled under the trees to wait out the light rain so as they may return to their lunch. Hinata shivered a little as a brisk wind found the slight wet spots making her cold.
Her body was then curled into a black-cloth shoulder, Hinata squeaked in surprise before relaxing. She leaned more into the side hug while they were contented to watch the light pattering rain. Hinata began drifting off into the cocoon of warmth when Naruto’s voice startled her.
"Hinata look!" Naruto urged while pointing to the sky. Mist of rain still fell but a multi-colored band now span the sky. Hinata smiled at the sight, and then turned her attention back to Naruto.
That’s what Naruto tended to remind Hinata of, a rainbow. He was bright, bringing a colorful sight to uplift your spirits. Though it seemed to be a little effeminate to call him beautiful Naruto was like that. For a rainbow is beautiful, and brings hope wherever it shines. Though the thing that cause Hinata to remark Naruto to a rainbow was the fact it showed up after a rain.
It was much liken to the fact when ever Naruto had to weather a heavy storm in life, he bounced back just as bright outshining any competition. Hinata chuckled silently as Naruto held her tighter in a side-hug, not that she would be mentioning that Naruto was a rainbow anytime soon...
