Summary: Naruto was just being himself, and comforted the younger Hyuuga girl, Hinata just wanted him to know that she was thankful for him helping out.
Uh, Thank You?
Naruto chuckled as the sunlight careened off his body and shadowing the grass below him. For some reason he was incredibly happy when he woke this morning, nature called to him to play and romp within the fields of Konoha. Many had shook their heads at his juvenile behavior, but they couldn’t stop the grins that arched their faces as they watched him. He was positively glowing with happy innocence as he skirted to and about in Konoha. As he clipped about the streets of Konoha his eyes caught sight of a hanging stuff bear, and on impulse he bought the toy.
Like most of the decisions he made in his life, it was on a simple whim that he went skipping down the streets to find someone to give the bear to for no other reason then he could. His happy traveling was pulled up short by a sound of a despairing yell of self-anger. He absently recognized that sound of one he made a lot in his own life, and he followed it. He found a Hyuuga, because only they had the snowy eyes that tended to see everything, Naruto absently remarked that this Hyuuga was familiar. None the less, his blue eyes settled on the blood on her hands as she struck another tree in anger.
Naruto approached her, clearing his throat and watching as she spun to glare at him. "Go away trash." She hissed at him, causing Naruto to semi-grin, she reminded him of Neji in a far sense.
"Now that is no way to treat someone who was concern about you." Naruto chided the younger female.
"I do not need your concern foolish boy." Her voice was sharp and Naruto merely squatted down to level their eyes.
"You Hyuuga people are always so strange." He mused while shaking his head. "Cheer up." Naruto muttered and handed over the teddy bear to the girl. "Things do get better eventually." With that he turned and left the shocked Hyuuga girl. His walking was halted by a body slamming into his back, and Naruto tilted his head to look at the girl.
"Hinata is right, you’re too nice." She whispered in his back, and Naruto finally remember who the younger girl was that was pulling comfort from him.
"Che, any time Hanabi." Naruto mumbled and tapped the girl on her head before continuing on with his walk.
Hours later he was found perched on the fourth’s head that was carved in the mountain. His legs were swinging childishly as he peered over the great village that was Konoha. He was startled however when a pair of arms surrounded him in a hug. Naruto tilted his head to see Hinata there, slightly red but grinning into his side.
"Thank you for cheering up Hanabi." Hinata whispered and Naruto nodded. His sharp eyes catching sight of the younger girl hiding off in the distance while clutching the bear he had given her.
"Heh, you’re welcome." Naruto responded and hugged the girl back. Hinata squeaked, slipped from his hold, stood up and bowed hurriedly. Naruto watched happily as the Hyuuga sisters headed off, Hanabi swinging the bear casually. "Che, Hyuugas." Naruto mumbled.
