During the tense showdown between the heroine’s current boyfriend and brother, Sakuno snuck a quick glance towards her friend.
She blushed at how close he was to her and a twinge of guilt ran through her as she took in his determination. Because Aoi had such a loud voice, he had developed a habit of talking during a movie; the two had been warned twice to keep it down or would be kicked out.
The pigtailed girl knew the other didn’t want to watch the movie, resulting in him not paying attention which led to him asking numerous questions. The last warning was given when the movie was halfway done and it was now nearing the end.
Aoi’s tight face made her grin somewhat. He was trying really hard not to say a word.
The movie ended earlier than expected with a cliff hanger; meaning a squeal would be coming out soon. But maybe asking Aoi to come with her wouldn’t be such a good idea. They’d have to spend the free time he had away from tennis doing something where he could enjoy himself.
As both freshmen exited the theatre, an image of a volcano erupting flashed through Sakuno’s mind when she saw his form trembling mildly.
With a hand hesitantly placed on his shoulder, the girl guided him outside quickly. As soon as the tall boy detected he was in a safe area; he let out a sigh - or what sounded like a sigh to him but was really a short shout.
Cringing, Sakuno smiled and told Aoi what she was thinking about the next time they had free time. His eyes lit up and he suggested that they go to the beach by his school. As they walked, the tennis player talked about the many different types of clams and techniques used to retrieve them.
“Oh, and Sakuno-chan!” She turned to him.
“Yes, Aoi-kun?” Suspicion grew after seeing the sly grin on his face.
“Because I had to go through that ordeal, I think a reward is necessary!”
Sakuno frowned as she pondered at what he wanted then blushed when he got too close…again. She didn’t know what it was with him and lack of space.
“…Eto…what would Aoi-kun like?”
She took a step back and he took a step forward. This continued until she felt something firm behind her. Looking back, she found a fence. Her attention then went back to the other.
“Hmmm…”
He thought for a moment before closing his eyes and throwing his hands up in the air.
“A KISS!” But when opening them, he found Sakuno gone.
“Sakuno-chan?”
Aoi looked around and chuckled when he found her running down the street. Did she forget he was a tennis player? After stretching a bit, he crouched down to a running position and set off after the girl.
