These will connect to form a story, hopefully in chronological order.
The story begins with the end of Year 6. If I don’t get finished by the time Book 7 comes out… Oh well!

(“Who’s here for practice today?” Harry asked, peering around cautiously. The room had been cleared of chairs and the long table with a sweep of his wand, and he was here to check the aptitude of his Order.
“It’s like Dumbledore’s Army, Harry,” Hermione had told him with a beaming smile. Harry felt somewhat uncertain, though. These were full-grown wizards who’d also possibly faced Voldemort.
Dedalus Diggle was nearby, since he’d checked in that morning. Hermione and Ron were present as well, among a few others; a few new recruits, notably one stunningly beautiful blond witch who had graduated from Durmstrang a previous year before moving to London (she’d been located by Elphias Dodge and, although she came from Durmstrang, was true to their mission) who went by the name of Ariane Astley, and two Japanese siblings who were named Sano and Nerilke, who were more of a mystery than anything else.
“Well then,” Harry said nervously, wiping his sweaty palms on his jeans. “Let’s have some mock-dueling, shall we? Dedalus, you and Ron can match up; Ariane, face Sano, if you please; Neville, if you and-“ his heart palpated briefly “-Ginny, would duel with each other. Nerilke, if you’d face Ernie Macmillan there…” He paused. “That leaves you and me,” he said quietly to Hermione, sending her a look of helplessness. It hadn’t been intentional on his behalf.
Dedalus and Ron paired up on the far side of the room, and the rest of the couples grouped up around the expansive area. Harry and Hermione bowed and stepped back three paces, then turned to face each other,
Out of the corner of his eye, Harry registered Ariane casting a red sort of spell in Sano’s direction, but was unable to observe his new recruits because Hermione quickly cast a spell, voicelessly, at him. Harry narrowly dodged the white stream that shot from her wand tip, and widened his eyes. He’d best pay her full mind.
‘Impedimenta,’ Harry thought loudly, and he saw Hermione’s eyes widen in surprise as her legs stiffened and she fell back a few feet. ‘Locomotor mortis!’ Harry sent a stream of magic that pushed her to the ground, and then thought, “Levicorpus!’
Using Snape’s spell made him uneasy, but he didn’t want Hermione to sustain an injury from his wand. Abruptly, a pain smattered across his eyes and he was unable to see, ad he simultaneously heard Hermione yell, “Conjunctivitis!” Harry stumbled backward.
“Protego!” Harry yelled as he felt an unspoken Petrificus Totalus spell wash past him. The force of the spell shattered his shield, and he was unable to defend against her Reducto, which was sent in quick succession after.
Harry flew backwards and collided with the ground, experiencing the unfortunately familiar and unpleasant experience of having the wind knocked out of him. A moment later, Hermione had hurried over and pulled him into a sitting position. “Oh, I’m sorry, Harry, I just wanted to practice nonverbal spells!”
Harry waved a hand feebly until he could draw air into his lungs. “It’s fine, Hermione. It’s what you should’ve done.” Slowly, he raised himself onto his knees, and then stood. The rest of the duels were drawing to a close. Ron was sporting a bloody lip and Dedalus was looking triumphant; Ariane was talking amiably to Sano, who had a white bandage wrapped around his arm; and Nerilke was casting a counterspell upon a Stupefied Ernie. Lastly, Harry saw Neville bending over Ginny with a look of contrite apology, so he assumed that he had defeated the scarlet-haired witch and somehow harmed her.
Hermione cleared her throat, and Harry turned back to her. “It was a good duel,” he offered. “Good job.” He turned away from her. “Alright, everybody. Take a break; there’s snacks in the hallway.” He sank onto the floor against a wall and looked up in mild surprise as Hermione took the seat next to him.
Hermione sighed. “I’m sorry, Harry. That was less than my best. I didn’t want to duel you, really…”
Harry shook his head and smiled wanly. “I didn’t duel you to the best of my ability either. I apologize for not giving you the respect.”
Hermione smiled in return. “I did the same thing, so it’d be far too bold for me to be offended.”
Harry realized he was staring at Hermione’s lips and said hurriedly, “Uh… you beat me anyways, so-“
He was unable to finish as she leaned closer and covered the few-inch gap between them. Harry closed his eyes as her lips brushed suggestively against his in a whisper of a kiss.)
