"Explain it to her again. I don't think she gets it."
"I get it, I just don't…comprehend why it works."
"She doesn't get it."
"Jenna, It's medicine."
"That's not medicine that I've ever seen."
"It's a new kind, Jenna. They've taken all the things from your healing plants and put them into this pill."
"Then why can't you tell me what 'Wada Calcium CD3' even is?"
"It's all done by chemistry in my world. A bunch of people studied the medicines and figured out how each herb helped each different sickness. And they broke down the chemical compounds so that they could reduce it into a pill."
"It's…smaller?"
"Yes."
"But it works just as well."
"Yes."
"I don't trust it."
"Well, you didn't want to go to Shanara for such a simple sickness."
"Right."
"And you couldn't find your normal herbs here."
"Right."
"And you're too discombobulated to find your herbs anyway, if we took you to Ordin."
"-not to mention the fact that if my father catches wind of us there, we'll have to visit him."
"That, too."
"Dis-what?"
"He means…you're too sick. You can't root around the plants for hours on end to find herbs."
"Well, you can help, right?"
"My Ruby doesn't work like that so far from the heart of the Diadem."
"Exactly. So you should just take my word for it that this pill will help you."
"Well, how? What's in it?"
"Stuff to fight fever, headache, and sore throat: All of your symptoms: one little pill. Ain't Earth great?"
"I partook of this capsule when I was sick; and Score did, when he got sick -"
"-thanks a lot, by the way. For that."
"My pleasure, I'm certain."
"I don't know if it was actually worth making out with you when I knew you wanted to get me sick-"
"-and we know that it does work. So why do you doubt?"
"I do not doubt. I just…do not…I do not understand."
"What don't you understand?"
"Is it magic?"
"It's science."
"So…I swallow it?"
"Yes. You ingest it, and as it dissolves into your body, the medicine will distribute where it is needed."
"What if it just stays in my stomach, not knowing where to go?"
"It knows where to go."
"How?"
"Hell if I know."
"Your body won't let the medicine work where it isn't needed."
"Yeah. That. That's a much better answer."
"Jenna…just swallow it. It isn't poison of any sort. And if you don't think it works, you don't have to take any more."
"…Fine."
"Great!"
"But if it doesn't work, you're all coming herb-hunting with me, even if we have to visit Lord Votrin."
"Okay."
"Okay."
"I most certainly will not."
"She means Okay. Just take it, Jenna."
"Healers are the worst patients."
