His elegant form was something she admired. How long did it take for him to accomplish something like that? She didn’t know but the only thing she knew how to do was admire.
Her fingers laced through the holes of the metal gate and she watched him play the exhilarating sport. She was so…low in tennis compared to him. Sighing, a pig-tailed girl by the name of Sakuno turned around and walked away from the courts.
Her gaze was cast downwards as she remembered the days before she became knowledgeable about the world of middle school tennis. To win was every team’s goal and they would do what ever took to get to the top. Rikkai Dai was no exception.
The freshman’s lips curved as she thought about the day they first met. It wasn’t a nice meeting…but it had led to them being together.

“ Ah mou!”
Sakuno in front of a high brick wall that separated her from the flowing forest. She had been coming here for practice whenever she had free time. But honestly…the girl didn’t see any improvement in her tennis.
The ball she hit had hit the wall weakly and rolled over to the far left. A sigh of frustration left her lips as she walked over to the ball. It was when she crouched down to retrieve the yellow ball that she heard a voice.
“You really suck.”
The words were offensive but true. She cringed before looking over her shoulder. An older boy leaned against a short tree with his arms crossed. He had big pale blue hair that made him seem mature. She could see a black tennis bag at his feet.
They didn’t say anything for a while until Sakuno plucked up the courage to ask him who he was.
“Someone that can see that you can’t hit the ball.”
He uncrossed his knees and arms and walked over to her tennis racquet. He smirked as he tested it out.
Sakuno, who was impressed by his movements, walked over towards him hesitatingly and was careful not to get hit by his movements. He must have spotted her for he stopped swinging the pink object around.
“Here.” He tossed it to her and went over to his own bag to retrieve his racquet and a few tennis balls. Walking back to her, the skilled boy hit the ball repeatedly and had a brilliant form.
Since Sakuno was wrapped up in watching him play, she didn’t hear his warning. A sudden force met with her shoulder and she lost her balance. The girl yelped before hitting solid ground.
Her eyes had shut tight before the impact and now opened when feeling a tug at her braids. Her cinnamon eyes found a male hand at the end of her tied hair. She looked up at him and found that he seemed bored.
“Anything broken?”
“N-no…” Probably because of his features, Sakuno found herself feeling intimidated by him.
“I warned you.”
“I’m s-s-sorry…”
She let out an unintelligent sound when he pulled her up by her shirt. After he settled her down on her feet, the boy packed his things and walked away. He didn’t even say bye, which irked Sakuno.
Sighing, the girl returned to practice, trying to imitate the boy’s form.

“Watch out!”
Sakuno looked up and moved out of a man’s way. Looking around, she found that she had arrived at the train station. How she did not know but now she had to walk all the way back towards the bus station.
She heaved a sigh and retraced her steps, thinking back to that day again. They had met again at a later time because Seigaku was playing against a new school. Rikkai Dai.
As the games wore on, Sakuno recognized one of the players and vice-versa. He had come up to her after and they talked. Somehow they agreed on giving her lessons…more like him talking.
She found out that his name was Niou Masaharu aka the Trickster. A smile formed on her lips when she realized that she missed him.
The days that they spent with each other were gone since the Nationals were coming up soon.
It was hard for her but she knew that she had to let him go, whether she liked it or not.
