Judas brought it home from Japan the first Christmas he was away. He wasn't particularly religious, or even respectful when it came to the trappings, or baubles of a religion or cult. But he embraced them, rolled them over and dissected it with his head. He liked to fold them over and try to understand it.

When he found the small ivory goddess he thought of Andromeda. Her name was Guan Yin, and she was the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion.

Her grace couldn't hold a candle Aunt Andromeda's.

Xavier was eight, and staring at his brother from across the room. He kept fiddling with the corner of his box, and staring at him. To tell the truth, Sebastian always scared him. It was the way he stood, that Auror stance that reminded Xavier too much of those people who had taken his birth parents away.

And then last week, he had seen this in a window and thought of him. He had to beg Severus for twenty minutes to buy it. Very slowly, Xavier walked over and placed the gift in Sebastian's hands.
