I'm going to constantly update this, and I'm doing this because I don't have much else to do during my breaks, so if this keeps being bumped in your friends list, please bear with me :p I'll be including pics and stuff too later when I get them sent to me.

DAY 1 - Saturday, May 20, 2006:

So I just got off work at 6:30am. I haven't even finished packing yet because I just washed my whites and left them in the dryer for when I come home. I wanted to leave an hour early, but it took too long and caused too much trouble for myself and my lead so I was like screw it. So I went home knowing I was going to be picked up pretty much right away. I ended up having a bit of time, so I packed the rest of my stuff and loaded the van with my bag, rollerblades and acoustic guitar.

Rendezvoused (is that a word?) with another party at my friend's house and off we were to Whistler at 8am. We stopped by several McDonald's to get some ice first though. Normally I sleep around 8am till whenever so I tried to sleep as much as I could in the ride there. It was hard to sleep with other people in the van, and it being bright, and yeah. I think in the 2-3 hour ride there, I think I must've gotten no more than 20 minutes of actual sleep time, broken up by several times I'm sure.

We eventually got to the place and checked in. There was an underground gate blocking where we were supposed to park, and we had trouble finding a way to get it to open. Rich did the funniest thing and it made me laugh so hard. I was looking at Rich, and I didn't know but my friend found out how to open it. So she opened it, and as I was looking at Rich, he did these magician-style hand motions as if he were magically opening the gate. Hahhahahahahhah oh man it was funny. Not to you but to me yeah. And just recently I saw a funny internet video of something similar, of a guy who looks like he's doing amazing things but it zooms out to show he's pretty much not. ANYWAYS. We unloaded the vans and stepped into our room.

MAN the room is nice! It had two big beds, a bunk bed, several TV's with good movies to watch, a PS2, and yeah. The two big beds were hogged by the two girls that came with us, and they refused to share with anyone. Me and another friend claimed a bunk bed ASAP. Two other guys claimed the couch. Two slept on the floor...the poor hardworking boys who were the designated drivers. Poor them.

After settling into our rooms, we had this big jam session (we had 3 acoustic guitars up there). We played old songs, songs from musics, 90's pop songs, you name it. It was awesome. Then we went to the village where we hung out for a couple hours, but nobody bought anything. Nothing too special about the village.

Then at 5pm we went to mass at a small church. At this hour, I've been 23 hours without sleep. I had to fall asleep in the worst time and worst place possible. I probably got more sleep in the 1-hour service than the 2-3 hour van ride, sadly. The priest talked soooooooo slow so I couldn't help it. Anyways, that was eventually done with, and so we went back to our room to prepare for our dinner.

Before dinner, we started a $5 buy-in tournament with myself, Mike, Kevin and Rich. I took out Mike, calling his all-in when he made probably the worst bluff in history, haha. It was time for dinner, so we didn't get to finish, but we were going to continue, so we saved our chips, and I was the chip leader, so yay. Dinnertime.

What did we eat? None other than Kraft Dinner mac and cheese! That and Caesar salad and pre-made garlic bread, both of which were good. The mac and cheese was crap and I didn't want any more. Why we bought mac and cheese in the first place, I will never understand. Apparently everyone was joking and being sarcastic about buying it when the dudes went to Cosco, but it was bought anyway. WHY OH WHY. Oh well, the next dinner will do its justice which I'll get into later.

After dinner, the girls wanted me to go clubbing with them. I said I would go before we went to Whistler, and well seeing as I haven't gotten any sleep yet, I decided to pass. Some of the guys wanted to go to a bar and drink or something. Soooooooo it turns out everyone just stayed in the room for the night, haha. Some people were jamming again to just about every song, and three of us were in a room to ourselves just talking, which were nice. We brought up some interesting topics, and openly talked to each other, so that was kind of neat as I don't quite get to do that with friends too often. One guy met his friend who lives in Whistler around 10ish and went drinking.

I was passing out. I knew it was time to sleep. So I went to my bunk around 11pm-ish and pretty much passed out on the spot. So 6pm the previous night up till 11pm. 29 hours. Brutal.

I woke up later at like 3am and found the people who just came back who went out to pick up my friend who went drinking. He must have been pretty wasted, so he passed out on the sofa bed. At least he's okay, so I went back to sleep.

DAY 2:

I woke up around 7 or 8ish. We had cereal for breakfast, but the room didn't come with proper bowls, so we had to improvise. One guy ate off a plate with hardly any depth in it. Another guy ate off one of those small coffee cream pitchers. I, being the smart one, used a round tupperware that was practically like a bowl. Go me.

After breakfast we continued our poker game. It didn't take me that much longer to wipe out the last two guys, so I ultimately won the tournament. One jerk didn't pay but then again he didn't play most of the hands. Whatever. He was the one who organized the whole Whistler trip so I can't quite complain.

Kevin and Jerome went snowboarding/skiing while the rest of us stayed in our room. There wasn't a whole lot to do, so most of us just slept or did whatever. Me, Mike and Jen went rollerblading though. Oh boy. I thought I was decent at rollerblading, and boy did this prove me wrong. So we rollerbladed around the bunch of resorts that surround Whistler. It just so happens that our area is pretty much either uphill or downhill. I just learned that I don't know how to control my speed when I'm going downhill. I can't stop, I can't slow down. However, I can maintain a decent balance that I can just keep going until I hit an uphill area or at least flat. After going downhill once, Mike wanted to get his camera from the room, so me and Jen stayed behind near this trail. I looked down the trail, and it was definitely downhill; not that steep, but downhill nonetheless. I told Jen I was going to test it out. So I went down, AND I COULD NOT STOP. I yelled to Jen STAY UP THERE! while I uncontrollably sped down the hill. I came to a sharp turn where I almost bailed, and it came to a point where Jen couldn't even see me anymore. Eventually the path became flat and I was able to gain control again. I was VERY LUCKY not to have fell.

Mike came back, and I had to go around to go back to where I was. So we continued rollerblading. We went down that same hill. Mike and Jen went first. Mike's an ice-hockey player so he knows how to blade well. As for Jen, she's not great but she had Mike to hold her as she was going down. I went down again myself. This time Mike was ready to grab me, so I did. I stopped fast and landed on my hands, but nothing big.

After about half an hour or so and a few downhills later, I came to this downhill path which intersected a street. I let Mike and Jen go first as usual, especially since I won't be able to stop, so he made sure no cars were in the way. I went down, and again, I could not slow down. I tried going side-to-side as Mike suggested to slow down a bit, but I ended up doing a REALLY FAST 360 degree turn, and luckily I faced forward so I was able to maintain my balance. I was darting towards Mike, and he stuck his arm out. I was going to grab it. I did, but he didn't grab my arm. I couldn't fully latch on so I ended up spinning, I did a barrel roll in the air, and I landed on my knee, then my shoulder, then my lip then my cheek.

To be continued.
