Couldn't read the letters, but am I surprised at the drivel that gets published in the Straits Times, not to mention the level of discourse?
Heck, no!
Just the other day, someone confused Mobile TV (on the buses) with CCTV, and called for headphone jacks on every seat, but ST printed her moan-and-whine letter anyway.
BTW, isn't is "Confucian society" rather than "Confucius society"?
