Mark, I'm very sorry to hear that you lost Rascal. Two friends of ours lost their 17 year old Dachshund, Sadie, back in October. She was the dog they had gotten right after they became a couple, so she was their child. Our thoughts and prayers are with you both.

Thank you for sharing this. I understand how you feel. Reading this reminds me our dog Xuxa. I think about her everyday.

this is touching and I know it was hard to write, Last November I lost my Prissy, she was 16, My partner of 22 years and I both decided it was time to let her go due to conditions and circumstances she couldn't control. She wasn't alone during her last moments. She knew she was loved and still is. Then 1 month later our other dog, Ollie went to have a tooth extracted and he did not come home. A large tumor was found in his throat and he could not breath when he was sedated. Dean, my partner had to rush in and make the decision with me on the phone. It was Heart Breaking for both of us. It was the first time in over 20 years that our house was without a dog. I know we could never replace them but we could start again with a new baby. 2 days ago we brought home Barkley. a 7 week old Rat Terrier. He is settling in nicely and is a wonderful reminder of the great memories of our past babies. Hang in there, keep the memories alive and know that the Love you had for Rascal will always have a special place in your heart and others too.
