NAME: Vanessa Anne Hudgens
AGE: 21

"I'm a very private person. I've stated that in about a thousand different interviews, but I guess it hasn't clicked. I want my fans to know a bit about me, but I've always been a very private person. I'm not out here to be famous. If I wanted to be famous, I would have joined The Real World. I've been acting and singing since I was 8. I started out with musical theatre. I was in local productions of Carousel, The Wizard of Oz, Evita, The Music Man, Cinderella, and so on. If you look on YouTube, you can find me in How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I began with the kid shows and then developed into the more adult shows. It all started out with tap dancing, though. One of my favorite Christmas gifts was a pair of tap shoes. It started the whole musical theatre deal and here I am now. But I've had my lows. Thunderbirds. What the hell was I thinking? I don't regret taking up the movie. I regret thinking it'd be successful. We didn't have a lot of press for the movie and that wasn't helping. After the movie, we all sort of hung our coats up and just laughed about it. It had already gotten negative reviews before it even came out. I don't own the movie. I'm sure they don't even sell it..."

"Then we have the nude photo scandal. It's not something I enjoy visiting, but it happened. It's one of those things I wish to keep as private as possible. They were created for someone who meant a lot to me, and for only that someone. It sucks that someone screwed me over. My manager actually told me about the photos. Everyone was talking about how there was going to be some big story in the tabloids and a few days later, they were everywhere. I was in Australia on vacation. If i wasn't away from home, I'm not sure how it all would have gone down. I know it was crazy. For my parents, my sister, and my fans. Everyone was shocked. Thank God my mother wasn't angry. It came time to face her about the whole scandal, and she was great. She told me, 'Well, everyone can be naked if they want to.' It was cute and I'm thankful that she took it so lightly. My father wasn't as cute as my mother was about it... but he's my father. He's flung water bottles at the paparazzi and that was really mortifying. Then more photos showed up. Stella was young when the first set came out and I hope she's learned from the entire experience. It's made me stronger."

"I don't have a lot of friends that aren't in the industry. Everyone in Hollywood's going to tell you that it's hard to stay in touch when you're famous and it's true. It's a hassle to hang out with my friends in Hollywood. As an actress, I want a successful career and that means going to auditions, photoshoots, recording studios, premieres, and press. Half of the time, I'm halfway around the world. Phones only go as far as to sending a few nice texts and leaving a voicemail. There's no face to face communication and that's something I value in a friendship. If we're close, it's because we've spent time hanging out. It's not because we've 'tweeted' each other or we've webcammed. Having that quality time with someone is important to me. I'm open to meeting all of my fans and new people, but it's difficult to set up a relationship with someone that you'll only see once or twice a year, even a lifetime. The easiest friends to make are co-stars. You're on set with each other for weeks and after work, you're able to have that time together. The length of the relationship depends on the project, but it's nice to have someone to hang out with in the moment. After we shot the first High School Musical , everyone on set was inseparable. Ashley was attached to my hip for the first few movies. We're still close, but since she's out filming for her show, we don't see each other as often. I've been dating Zac for years now. He's great. Another one of those very private parts of my life. It's no secret, but what I have is special, and I think it's my right to keep some part of that private. I'll tell you something. He makes me laugh, he makes me happy, and that's great. I haven't thought about marriage or children yet. Those motherly instincts haven't kicked in. I'm too busy thinking about what project to take on next."

"Sucker Punch is my latest project. It's something that I've been so excited to be a part of. I've gotten so bored with the whole High School Musical franchise. I get bored easily, especially when I'm doing the same thing over and over again. Gabriella bores me. I have this love-hate relationship with her. She's a goody-two-shoes and I've had so many people look at me and think, 'It's that High School Musical girl.' I want to reinvent myself. I'm thankful for Disney and Kenny Ortega, the whole High School Musical franchise, but it's time I've grown up. Sucker Punch is this movie that has a lot of edge. I felt like such a badass. We went through all of this training and I got to shoot a gun. It's a lot more exciting than playing the 'freaky, genius girl’ again. I also worked on Beastly. I worked on that with Alex Pettyfer and Mary-Kate Olsen. I remember watching Full House and how adorable I thought she was. She's so fashionable. She always has these cute, boho outfits and she's great with style. The movie is based off of some teen novel, but at least, it's a teen novel. I was nineteen when I went through the audition process anyway. It's a step up from preteen. Sucker Punch is my start with sexier, edgier films. Beastly was simply one of those fan projects. I was young and I thought it'd be interesting to approach my fanbase with something out of Disney. It has yet to be released, but I'm proud of it."

RP EXAMPLE:

Vanessa wasn't one of those celebrities that thought that the paparazzi were just doing their job. She made it obvious that she loathed the idea of someone with a camera following her, that see-and-be-seen feeling. Today was an important day and any cameraman that got in her way, she would surely tase them. Today was Stella's birthday and nobody was getting in the way. She had a to-do list of things to accomplish. She wasn’t joking when she had stated that she carried a taser gun in her purse either. The gun was originally intended to sit in her bedside drawer at home. Now that she was living alone, she wouldn't want to be without a weapon if it came to defending herself in a crazed fan break-in. Every now and then she brought it along with her when she went out and about, typically on days she felt she could put it to some good use. First thing on Vanessa's to-do list: Pick-up Stella. Well, first thing on her to-do list was 'birthday shopping'. Stella was young and she changed her interests so often, Vanessa decided to let her come along and pick out anything she liked.

After quickly dialing Stella's number into her phone, Vanessa waited impatiently as the other line rang twice. "Hi!" Vanessa greeted hurriedly, listening as Stella followed with bits and pieces of today's events. She wasn't typically as ignorant, but she was on the lookout. "Mhmmm." Vanessa mumbled, looking around before locking the doors. The locking the doors thing was more of a natural thing that had developed over the past few years, but she had only taken notice to it now. It made her feel like she was an agent of some sort, or maybe even a spy, as ridiculous as it sounded. "Yeah, get out here." She warned with a chuckle before she hurried a goodbye, hanging up her phone and letting it sink to the front of her dashboard. She wouldn't wait outside for Stella. The last time she had waited outside for Stella, she had waited on their parents' porch, a mob of photographers attacking her from behind. Clearly, Vanessa wasn't in the mood.

Minutes after Vanessa had hung up, she had impatiently looked over at her parents' house, pleased to see an eager Stella fast walking for the car door. Vanessa unlocked the doors, watching as Stella hoped in the front seat, an excited expression. As Vanessa leaned forward, fumbling with her keys, ready to start the car up once again, she heard a tapping on her window. Who had the nerve to knock on her car window? What paparazzi had the guts to bang on her personal property, most likely hoping for a reaction shot? She was surprised to look up to see a father holding up his young daughter, her face disappointed to see Vanessa's stressed expression. Vanessa rolled down her window to listen to this father's concerns, how his daughter was a huge fan, how it'd mean the world to him if she'd take a quick picture, maybe even sign the High School Musical t-shirt she had quickly slipped on before she had made a run for Vanessa's car. With a smile, Vanessa leaned her head outside the window, "Of course."
