While you wait for the next chapter (sorry, Summer months are always somewhat sluggish for me), have another handful of songs that basically make the story happen... And as the title says, some might be slightly spoilerish... Then again, they might only seem so to me since I know what will happen in the nearest future.
The Police, Synchronicity (I) - a long time ago I've pronounced this song the opening to the main story (Nikita's diary aka. "The inner Machine" has a separate one); I'm not 100% sure whether it's still accurate... But probably will, once the story moves into a quicker pace. Fun fact: the mysterious vial from the last chapter has a very strong connection to part of the lyrics.
Klaxons, Golden Skans - believe it or not, it's Nikita's theme song; as an alchemist he moves through such abstract spaces, exploring what others can only vaguely imagine - "from the night to the light".
James Vincent McMorrow, Sparrow and the Wolf - an upbeat tune (with downer lyrics) that helps me a whole lot with the current chapter... Seriously, I had a hard time writing it so far, but after finding this little gem all suddenly became clear; as if by magic, really *chuckle*.
Badly Drawn Boy, A Minor Incident - this one, on the other hand, will be the opening for the (hopefully first) September chapter; the whole of About a Boy OST fits Henri and Anthony to a T, but this one is... Oh, you'll see.
Rufus Wainwright, Complainte de la Butte - speaking of our two idiots protagonists... I recalled this song recently - one of the best of Wainwright's, seriously - and probably for the first time fully realized that it's bilingual; which means, Anthony being faux-British and Henri faux-French, the could sing it together rather beautifully... I'm such a sap.
Ryuichi Sakamoto, Mill Theme (Robotaki remix) &
Lulu Rouge, Ninna Nanna - two Naor-related songs; also, kid!Anthony themes... And to some extent Maud's as well, but I cannot say anything more on that. But I sometimes wonder... Does Anthony still hear them when he sleeps..? Or maybe just the second he wakes up, that strange afterglow of a dream...
Fever Ray, The Wolf - finishing off with something badass; Fever Ray is an amazing source of Naor-related inspiration, most of the genii have her songs for themes. This one, however, is strictly for Doppelgänger's first appearance sequence. It will be a blast, trust me... And by the way, Red Riding Hood is not really a horrible movie, so you can give it a try if you're bored, just saying.
By the way, since I plan to make a downloadable mini-OST somewhere in September, what would you like best? Just a compilation of what I've posted so far or rather some more music-by-characters/relationships... Or background music for particular scenes? It's all your choice.
