Back on Veldime, Kurtis and Adell saved each other's lives several times. As a result, there is a lot of trust between the two. Kurtis teases Adell sometimes, but he sees Adell as a true Defender. Normally, Kurtis prefers to work on his own, but in Luceti he sees the necessity of an organized resistance, so it wasn't hard for Adell to convince Kurtis to join the Blue Rogues. The two often work together in Luceti, most notably in the arrest of Medic.

Flonne's purity and desire to fill the world with love are qualities that Kurtis respects. Plus she also seems to be bit of a fan of him. Kurtis may not be as egotistical as Gordon, but he likes having fans, too. These qualities combined meant that Flonne was one of the first to see potential good in Kurtis back when he was working with Carter. That's something that's very important to Kurtis.

Kurtis and Vash worked together during the desert encounter with Yuber. Kurtis learned a lot about Vash in that time. He has a heroic spirit, and is willing to go well out of his way to save others. He is also much stronger than he lets on. Kurtis could sense a strength in him during the Yuber confrontation. Vash's death was a big shock.

Kurtis was a little mistrustful of Caine at first. After seeing the EDF become corrupted, Kurtis is hesitant about traditional law enforcement and military, but he soon saw that Caine is an honest man who just wants to ensure that justice is done. In the future, Kurtis will likely be quick to support any law enforcement project Caine starts.

Yuber is a villain. His intentions aren't clear, but what is clear is that he has to be stopped. Of course, not knowing what he wants makes him very dangerous. Worse, he is very powerful, and Kurtis does not know exactly what his powers are. He was able to kill Vash, but his power isn't infinite. He didn't seem to want to face Kurtis, Vash, Brook and Meryl all at once.

Kurtis doesn't know much about Terra's past, but he does know that she is an innocent victim of Kefka. The two were enemies in their world, and that's continued here. Of course, that means that as a Defender of Earth, he must help protect her. She is clearly a capable mage, though, as she helped out in the arrest of Medic.

Vyse is the leader of the Blue Rogues, a militia group that Kurtis joined on Adell's recommendation. Kurtis hasn't seen much of Vyse, but he knows that Vyse has a lot of good will around town, and Kurtis trusts Adell's recommendation.

After Medic murdered Klonoa, Kurtis was part of the group that arrested him. In the end, though, Kurtis became the one defending Medic. Kurtis sees part of himself in Medic, and he believes that Medic can be rehabilitated. He released Medic, eventually, and is currently keeping an eye on him.

Razette seems like a very innocent person to Kurtis. She's apparently been through a lot, and it's surprising that she's managed to keep that innocence. Kurtis thinks it's a little odd that she doesn't want to be able to communicate verbally, but if she's happy the way she is, he has no problem with that.
