Today I drove a couple hours in each direction to go give a talk at a nearish-by college. The talk went well and it was fun to meet new people and talk to them about fun things, and the drive was through beautiful countryside, but MY LORD radio is bad these days. Sounds like you drove through the region that I commuted through.

I found that AM radio was my best bet. There is this weird Christian advice show where I would ponder whether the hosts were gay. At one point I was the reigning expert in my social group on right-wing talk radio. (Every time someone would disagree with me, I would ask, "Why do you hate America?") On Sundays one of the stations plays three hours of polka.

With the right atmospheric effects I could get AM NPR pretty far away from the city.

I saw Jenny Lewis last Friday. I bought the tickets before I bought her CD, which I liked but not loved, but after seeing her show, I have a much deeper appreciation for the CD.
