Ohhh, I remember Paranoia Agent. Mannnn.

But if you like Pretentious Shit I recc Monster as an Anime or Manga. It's LONG, not episodic at all, but intensely plot heavy, moral issues, interestingly psychological shit and like my favourite series ever. The Anime is like exactly the same as the manga so either works.

Paranoia Agent is one of those few shows I will totally coerce others into watching even if I've never actually finished it myself...haha

*watches Monster clip* Um yus, I think I will be needing more of this. :D

It FRIGHTENS me. Like Uzumaki did. It comes from the fascination with horror, due to a horror fascination. Does that make sense?

Oh, and Cowboy Bebop is the single greatest animated show ever. I said it and I'm not taking it back.

Kino's Journey (or Travels, depending on the translation) basically has all the thinky shit you want. No really. A lot of the episodes are very self-contained, with Kino and her talking motorcycle (yes, her motorcycle talks and it's awesome) being the only constants.

I just recently watched Noir and liked it a lot, you might like it too. There is a lot of questionable morals and the plot is very twisty, and a big plus for me; there were lots of chicks and no central guy that they all wanted to get with. XD

You will probably also like Ergo Proxy, which is kind of like cyberpunk, communism, philosophy lessons, and really awesome looking monsters. I am about to do a rewatch of it, because there's so much there. Since I read philosophy texts in my spare time it was a lot of fun in the episodes where they were using the plot to discuss crazy shit like that. XD ( ... )

Oh, Kino's Journey sounds especially nifty. I can always get behind talking motorbikes. Thank you!

Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo is one of my recent favorites. I tend to really like overly intense themes of betrayal though. I think you might like aspects of this one. The first episope is so-so, but once you're hooked it's hard to stop.

My roomate loves Cowboy Bebop. I could take it or leave it, mostly. Some of the storylines cool, but never got invested in anyone. She also loves Samurai Champloo, so maybe those are similar?
