Man, there go my Christmas plans. I've been working overtime like a crazy woman to try and make sure that I had enough spare hours to go home for Christmas, and now I've come down with a nasty flu. I've basically quarantined myself in my room so nobody else gets it

The flu usually runs its course in about a week or so. Do you really think you'll be too sick to go home by the time Christmas rolls around? Or is it because the hours you're missing at work will set you back?

It's the hours. I know my flu will clear up in a few days, but by the time it does I'll have used up almost all if not all of my vacation. I might go out there for the day. We'll see.
If I end up staying here you'll have to take me to your Christmas party at work, you know.

...I don't have to take you. Uh, that came out wrong. That is...I meant...if you're still kind of sick and all, I don't think my coworkers would appreciate being exposed to the flu. Or...wait, don't you want to go home? To your family? Isn't that what Christmas is all about? Spending time with family and not random strangers who will ask lots and lots of embarassing questions? Or, y'know...we could just stay here. Where there will be food. Food cooked by Chouji. Doesn't that sound much nicer? Staying in, sitting by the tree......which we don't have. Now that's just wrong. Okay, after I bring you the soup, I'm going out to buy a tree and decorations.

I didn't say that I don't want to go home. I said that by the time I get over my flu, I might not have any vacation time left.
As for the tree, I'll chip in to get that and some ornaments. I think they have trees at Wal-Mart that have lights built in.
