I want you to know that I am a veterinary technician and I work at Carolina Veterinary Specialists off of south tryon (I work in the emergency department) - during the week days we have specialists. (neuro, internal medicine, surgery, ophtho, etc.) If you have any questions about the diagnosis, treatment options and so on, feel free to email me (ICUAnimalNurse@hotmail.com) and if I don't know the answer, I can ask the internal medicine doctor and get back to you. We have a couple EXCELLENT IM docs, so please don't hesitate to ask. We deal with these cases all the time, and I have seen several dogs make an impressive recovery - HOWEVER, it is dependent on their age, general health, and to what extent the cancer has already taken over. If your dog was here, I would suggest just bringing him in so we can do some scans and so forth ... but since he's not, just ask any questions you might have.
