It was frightening, but not only is it ironic that this happened on "RIVER Road", but it also happened almost right at the fire/rescue station that has the training area for this type of disaster training. 1st responders from all over the country train RIGHT there

I hadn't heard about that until reading this.. my in-laws go through one of those intersections extremely frequently.
(though depressingly, I've also just had the thought that I wonder if it will increase or decrease the traffic on Seven Locks near them...)
Glad no one was seriously hurt! (and this made me just a smidgen happier about the two+ year water restrictions that we had in my area of HoCo while they replaced a major main (or was it two?) up here... though not so much about the fact that HoCo recently started to get water from DC as well as Baltimore...)
I thought of you as soon as I heard. It's gonna be tricky getting around over there for a bit. I'm just glad that according to news reports, everyone has survived.

I was reading that WSSC said it's unsafe for crews to go into that pipe to shut it, and they have to go further up the line to cut off the water.
