So.. did you go up to get that woodchuck? All I know is that the ones who live around here have had the sense to keep their little black noses hidden wherever they've tucked themselves away for the winter... good thing, too. (though I'd be rather amused to see one of them attempting to make their way through the piles... especially as even the rabbits haven't done so much this past week. Squirrels and birds on the other hand...)

I will say that I am thinking buckshot may be too gritty in the future. I'll have to load a shell with rock salt. :) They had BETTER be hiding! Although, they may be burrowing for bulbs and tasty morsels in a gigantic, mole-like habitrail through the white blanket, comforter and duvet set that still remains after all our snow and ice storms.

P.S. In the end, I am only joking. I'm really not a hunter -- and tend not to like gamey meats, let alone the concept of oversized rodents. I just can see no better fate for whomever decided to turn this winter into a lot of time looking at the same walls, for some people also without lights/heat.
