Sparkle and Ulrik's Room, Monday Evening

Jan 07, 2013 17:27

As frustrating as it was to not have things like a mouth shaped for speech and opposable thumbs, Zhahar didn't mind being a puppy so much. It meant she could spent more time in view, since having a fawn in the dorms was unwieldy, and Zeela as a badger was a terrible plan for Sparkle everyone. And it also meant that she could curl up on beds in the ( Read more... )

Yep. A lead balloon covered in lead paint, and filled with lead.

Because, see, one moment, Sparkle had been minding his own business, leaning back on his bed with his headphones in, listening to Rodgers and Hammerstein music and flipping through a magazine filled with porn quality educational articles, content to let the puppy sleep at his feet.

And then the next minute, the puppy wasn't a puppy anymore. In fact, the puppy was not only not a puppy, it was not at all the not-puppy that he had thought she was going to be when she turned back.

And so, perhaps unsurprisingly, Some Enchanted Evening was now being drowned out by a somewhat raucous, "What the fucking fuck!?"

Zhahar opened one groggy eye to glare at Sparkle, still not yet aware of a few pertinent details, like 'human' and 'naked.' Didn't he know that she was napping? Did she have to poke Zeela into coming into view to hiss at him?

She was more than welcome to poke whoever she needed to. That just meant that she wasn't going to be the only one to have a rolled up porno magazine being waved at her like a baseball bat this evening. Wouldn't that be fun?

"Okay," Sparkle said, about as evenly as possible considering the naked chick that wasn't Sholeh, glaring at him from the foot of his bed. "I'm going to ask you like one question, and you're going to answer it, and then maybe we'll get you some pants or something and send you on your way, and you can do me a favour and stop being naked on my bed, here. Who the hell are you?"

"What?" Zhahar asked, blinking at him in confusion. And then realizing she'd actually spoken, instead of just barking.

And then realizing that she was a human again and why was she naked and Mother's Third Eye she was in view! Naked! Not Sholeh!

So Sparkle's question was getting ignored completely as she began trying to cover up as much of herself as possible with her hands. "Goawaygoawaygoaway!"

Ulrik had rather gotten used to the presence of the fawnbadgerpuppy that (so he'd been told) was Sholeh over the past few weeks. It had been a bit confusing at first, sure, familiarity breeds, well- never contempt, in this case, but he'd come to accept it as just another bit of Fandom weird.

He glanced up from the book he was reading while sprawled on his own bed as the timbre of those puppy-snores changed significantly, expecting to see the fawn or the badger... but nope.

Girl.

Very naked girl.

"//Good lord//," he exclaimed, forgetting, for the moment, to use English.

Why did the boys hate her nap? Why? They were perfectly content to indulge Sholeh and Zeela, but let Zhahar try to nap and suddenly there was yelping and exclaiming and--huh, when did it get so drafty in here?

Ulrik still wasn't even processing well enough for the fact that this was totally not Sholeh to really sink in. He was, however, going to quickly grab the comforter from his bed and throw it over her.

Because 17th century standards of modesty, that's why.

"//What,//" he paused, and then collected himself somewhat. "What is going on?" at least he managed English this time.

"Mother's Third Eye, Ulrik," Zhahar grumbled absently, "What's so hard to figure out about me...taking...a...nap..."

Words. Why were there words. Coming out of her mouth. In a way that could be understood by anyone.

Zhahar looked down at herself, now mostly covered by Ulrik's blanket, now with a lot more to cover than she's had in a month, and dove under it, shrieking.
