There was squeaking. Loud, surprised squeaking.
And then silence from within. Almost as if there was someone there trying to stay very, very still and be overlooked.
Unfortunately, she hadn't latched the door all the way and it creaked open under Evan's knuckles.

So when he came back to the room to find a strange boy rummaging through Sholeh's things, he frowned. "You shouldn't take things unless Sholeh said you can," he said sternly.
