Room 216, Sunday Evening

Sholeh snuck a quick glance into her room. Okay, no roommate in sight. Breathing a quick sigh of relief, she slipped inside, shutting the door behind her. Technically, she knew it was stupid all this skulking about when all the other girls were boys, too, but it didn't matter. It was kind of adorable how they thought that, really. Especially since Evan hadn't seen Sholeh since... well... since things kind of exploded in Yeul's reality, and he'd taken to worrying that he'd messed something up spectacularly, and now, with all the girls as guys, he had a bit of an inkling that they'd be attempting to do something just like this.

So, this was Evan, knocking maybe a touch awkwardly at Sholeh's door.

You know. A smidgen.

A knock!

Sholeh was not prepared for this!

There was squeaking. Loud, surprised squeaking.

And then silence from within. Almost as if there was someone there trying to stay very, very still and be overlooked.

Unfortunately, she hadn't latched the door all the way and it creaked open under Evan's knuckles.

"Um... Sholeh, pretending you're not in there after making a noise like that..." Evan watched the door swing open a little, and then grabbed the handle and hesitated. "I can close the door and go, if you want. But... I mean... I'm a shapeshifter. Whatever the island's done to you isn't going to bother me."

Just saying.

"You heard me?" she asked, turning towards the door. Which was now open. And there was an Evan. "...It bothers me."

Cecil didn't really know a lot of people yet, and most of those were already male, so he had somehow avoided the "no really, I'm just the other gender" explanations so far.

So when he came back to the room to find a strange boy rummaging through Sholeh's things, he frowned. "You shouldn't take things unless Sholeh said you can," he said sternly.

"I'M NOT HERE YOU DON'T SEE ME!" Sholeh squealed, whirling around and holding up her hands to her face.

…Okay, to be fair, Cecil was probably one of the few people that actually stood a chance of working on.

Sometimes.

He frowned. "I'm pretty sure I do." He reached out and poked the strange boy on the shoulder, then nodded. "You're definitely here."

"Could you maybe pretend that I'm not?" Sholeh asked, peeking out from between her fingers. "That would be really nice."
