I won't let you fall apart

It didn't take Wes long at all to fall off to sleep. Not that I was exactly surprised, these nurses had a whole bunch of drugs pumped into him. I was more surprised that he still remembered his own name, let alone ours. I should ask 'em to dope up Angel too. That way I wouldn't be sittin' next to Wes and eyeing Angel like a hawk. He kept doin' that ( Read more... )

I kept my eyes on Wes as I paced the room slowly, then stopped, looking down at him before doing it over again. I was thinking of what we were going to do after this, after he gets out. Whether or not I should call Buffy, I probably should, she should know what happened, even if she really didn't know the people. Maybe she already knows, I don't know.

The nurse came in, trying to get us out of the room and I knew that I wasn't leaving. Narrowing my eyes, I gave her a look and growled under my breath. She finally took the hint and fled the room, closing the door behind her. With a sigh, I walked over to the door and leaned against it, just watching him, making sure he's breathing okay, making sure everything was going to be okay.

Looking over at Faith when she called my name, I stared at her with a blank expression as she asked me if I was cool. Well, not really, but I shrugged, then stretched a little, looking over at Wesley again.

"I'll be okay. Just trying to figure out what we're going to do now. What about you?"

Trying to figure out what we're going to do now? We're? I mean, it went without sayin' that I'd pretty much follow Soul Boy down to hell and back if he asked me to. As long as he wanted or needed me around? I'd be here. What? It wasn't like I had anything better to do anyway. High tail it back to Rome to watch Buffy and the Immortal drape themselves all over eachother? No fucking thank you. Don't get me wrong, I was gettin' my share of action over in Italy but it wasn't all that important to me. Not like Angel was.

"Five by five. Little worried about you though. Wonderin' if you're gettin' all stake happy again." I wasn't about sugar-coatin' anything for him right now. I was gonna give it to him straight just like he had done for me, not all that long ago.

Wes was gonna need him, I was gonna need him. Hell, the whole world needed him because he was one of those big swaggering hero types. He was talkin' about the next though. What we were gonna do next. That had to be a good sign, right?

She was worried about me. Well, I was going to be okay. Now that I know that Wes is alive, I'm okay now. And yeah, Faith is here, but I knew she'd be okay. I heard Wes muttering in his sleep and I looked over at him before slowly walking over to Faith, sitting in the chair next to her ( ... )

"What?" I asked, shaking my head confused as he sat down on the hard plastic chair beside me. He was a small cold comfort beside me as we both watched Wesley. Funny, me watchin' the watcher and all. Fate had a wicked sense of irony sometimes.

But what was that? He said he wasn't leavin', wasn't goin anywhere and then in the same breath said he needed to go and check on something. Well, not technically a breath since ya know, vampire. But still! How the hell was I supposed to keep up with that? Lookin' down at Wes again, he looked pretty unconscious. Probably be out like a light for hours as doped up as he was.

"What do you have to check up on? Because I'm comin' with you so don't even argue with me." I said, clenching my jaw. No way was I lettin' him walk out of this room alone.
