Pyro had seen much better days then this one. After running into that woman while out and about, she was lucky she got away from her when she did and only suffered what she considered minor injuries.

Unaware of Sniper completely, Pyro went dashing past him in the park panting heavily. With an empty bag crumpled up in her hand, she appeared to have just gone shopping. A small glance at her face would see the item she purchased being worn. A square white eyepatch covered her left eye on two strings securing it around her forehead.

Rubbing a hand against her mouth, a crimson color leaked from the side and dripped down her chin. There was a cough of sorts that escaped her before she halted and kneeled over on the concrete walkway and began hacking.

Sniper had just tossed the ball again as Pyro went running past; his eyes trailed after her, surprised to see her tearing across the park, but not putting together anything was wrong until she crumpled on the sidewalk.

"Pyro!" He was up in an instant, a gasp pulled into him as he put too much pressure on his leg in his haste. Grabbing his crutches, he went to where she was kneeling, stopping before her. "Pyro, wh-"

Something red on the pavement caught his eye, then the eyepatch on her face. He crouched as low as his knee would allow, anger already building in him at seeing her in such a state. "Pyro, what happened? Which one of them did this to you?"

The shock of hearing her name called made her jump and grab her chest. What a startle. When she realized who's voice it was calling her, it got even worse. Suddenly, she felt sweat dripping from the side of her forehead. She had never been a good liar. Most of the time she didn't filter herself in the slightest. Coming up with a quick and believable response would be difficult.

"It was no one in particular. Nothing I consider human anyways. There is no reason to worry over it." She avoided eye contact at all times. There was no reason to look at him or let him see past her hair the horror in her eyes. The not-human she was so frightened of couldn't hold her own against Pyro if she had the nerve to fight back.

"What do ya bloody mean no reason!? You've got blood drippin' from you and ya look like the bloody Scot with that eyepatch!" His teeth ground together behind his lips as he tried to stay calm; however, he could feel ire bubbling in his chest, that urge to grab his knife and strike down whoever did this to her rising.

"Tell me which one of them did this, Pyro. Now."

"It beats getting blown up by a rocket." She was avoiding this conversation. Telling Sniper the truth would result in a bad outcome. If anything, it'd be playing into the hands of mommy dearest.

"It isn't anyone you think it is. Especially not a Spy. Don't worry, it's not going to happen again."

She dodged his question; Sniper bit back further irritation as well as the urge to grab her wrist and not let go until she'd told him. His fingers twitched as he pushed a breath through him, his mind already starting to go over the suspects. Who would dare attack someone as dangerous as Pyro? More importantly, who could do it and live to tell the tale?

Or perhaps they didn't survive, unless she was merciful. Still, the thought someone even get close enough to injure her that badly told him something. She said it wasn't a Spy- did that mean it genuinely wasn't, or that she was keeping him from jumping to the obvious conclusion?

His eyes narrowed. "And how do you know that? Why won't you tell me who it was?"

"Are you that far gone? I consider the killing I do back home and the killing that happens here two separate things. People don't come back so easily in Paradise! Mou! I don't want that sort of responsibility." Rubbing a hand against her chin, she pulled it away and looked at the drops running down the sides of her fingers.

"I know quite well what you'd do if I told you. That's why I won't tell you. The outcome if I told you would be unpleasant one for me to deal with and I'd prefer if you'd drop the matter."

He ground his teeth as she saw through him, knew exactly what he'd do without his even saying it. He was an unfortunately predictable creature at times when it came to his behavior, his sanctuary found in his routine. And if anything that threatened that sanctuary, that sense of stability he needed in his life?

"Right, so they're still around and I should just pretend nothin' bloody happened. You want me to pretend I wasn't in the hospital, while I'm at it? That nothing happened to me and that piker ain't still out there doin' who knows what with my weapons? What else would ya like me to conveniently overlook!?"

"If you get this angry when someone turns you down, I certainly will not provide you with information about my attacker. You've proven my case well, Sniper." Fishing out a cigarette from her coat pocket, Pyro slipped it in-between her lips and lit up with a snap of her fingers.

"You like to put words in my mouth. I'm not saying you shouldn't. You can do as you like as long as you can live with yourself afterwards. However, if you choose to pursue me on this matter anymore I will not be friendly about it."

His eyes bored into her, a guttural noise reverberating in his throat. She didn't want to tell him- no, she wasn't going to tell him. Even with Paradise's broken respawn, he knew she wouldn't let someone hurt her, especially if they were a BLU. It was someone she was protecting despite the attack, someone she didn't want dead regardless of how they treated her. That narrowed his options a great deal.

He swallowed away his anger has he rose to his feet, his demeanor calmer as he forced it down. He offered her a hand. "Fine. Let's at least get you cleaned up. It's gettin' late, anyhow."

At the hand drawing near to her, she turned away and blushed. Was he trying to be sweet to lure information out of her? Turning back to his hand, she looked down at it for a brief moment before placing her own on top of it.

"Don't think this means I'll tell you just because you're being cute."

His fingers curled around her hand, giving it a squeeze before the pull to help her to her feet.

"I'm just tryin' to get you home. I'm not Doc, but I know a little about first aid."

"I don't believe I am injured enough to need assistance. You know how Sensei can be. Going under his knife is no fun." Even if she said that, the tone of her voice had a sense of longing in it. As much as she tried to ignore the fact Medic would never cross her path in this world again, visions of him and her together both good and bad from the past came flooding back.

"... I miss him. Even if he was grumpy and weird."

Sniper sighed, hearing the change in her tone as he recalled that night she'd gone looking for Medic. The doctor's disappearance still seemed to weigh heavily on her. "Right. Shouldn't've brought him up. Sorry, pumpkin."

He let out a low whistle, and Teriyaki came bounding up, barking happily at Pyro's feet, unaware there was anything wrong with her.

"Come on, Terr. Let's go home."
