Not-So-Empty Nest

Summary: With one Spy gone and the other moved out, Sniper is under the impression he and Pyro (and the pets) are the only ones at the base. Spoiler: they're not.
The base had been quiet since the departure of both Spies. One had simply moved out, presumably gone to find some other house in which he could do whatever he liked, as far as Sniper was concerned. The other's disappearance was more troubling in a way he wouldn't admit to anyone, his friend having vanished without a trace. What few possessions he left behind were tucked away for safe keeping- should Spy return, of course. Not for any sort of sentimental reason. That was just foolish.
RED sighed as he stood at the base of the stairs, gaze turned toward the doors to the lab. He hobbled into the kitchen on his crutches, the metal cold against his bare skin. There was an unfortunate amount of it present, too- with most of his clothes assumed to be in the wash and the base empty anyway, he figured it was safe enough to get breakfast in nothing but his boxers and aviators before tracking down the rest of his dog-eared jumpers and pants.
Onto a plate went a few muffins, and back into the den he went, taking a seat on the couch. He'd barely started in on the first one when the familiar th-th-th-th-thud of Teriyaki bounding down the stairs rang in his ears, the pup ready for his first meal, too. Though Sniper had taken the time to set him a bowl of kibble out, the dog was far more interested in the morsel in his master's hand.
"Now now. These aren't for you." The dog ignored him, proceeding to put on his saddest, most desperate look. "Aww, now that might be the most down you've ever looked. You sure I didn't feed you? Maybe you oughtta go take a look. Go on."
When the dog still didn't budge, he smiled. "Well, maybe just one bite. But we won't tell Pyro, will we? That'll be somethin' just between us."
