Hiding in the back of a Utility.

Mar 22, 2012 14:29

It's late after noon, in Southern Australia. The sun is slowly dropping and the distant sound of a great many sheep can be heard in the distance along with a barking dog.

There's a good sized home infront of the large sheep farm that lies on this land. a short distance away there is a Ford utility sitting in the red dirt driveway. In the tray in the ( Read more... )

What you did there, I see it. bye_to_yer_head March 22 2012, 04:49:26 UTC
BLU was walking down the dirt road, bow strung across his shoulder, unsure how he had gotten there, but as was the way with dreams not really concerned with finding out. He watched the sheep tearing the grass for a moment, nostalgia hitting him hard at the sight.

But he carried on walking, having some purpose, somewhere he needed to be, though he wasn't sure what.

Nearing the farmhouse a tiny scrap of blue fabric caught his eye and he peered over the edge of the truckbed before recoiling. He hadn't meant to intrude on someone, especially not a child.

"You alroight there?"

Ah ha! Actually, it's more head cannon than BLU emotional plundering... This time. missaccuracy March 22 2012, 07:39:37 UTC
The second she hears the strange voice she scrubs at her eyes furiously with the back of her arms and then childishly scowls up at him, still holding tight to the package.

"Who're you? /You/ don't work for daddy. If you're looking for work you have to wait till after dinner"

Her voice was fairly deep sounding for a girl, almost sounding like she was trying to make it sound deeper on purpose. She was also trying very hard to act like she wasn't crying.

She stares at him for a long moment.

"Daddy owns it. I can sit in it if I want."

Unlike now, Samantha was a very distrusting child around strangers.

"Who're you?"

She turned a little more to face him better.

"I'm Sniper." He looked further down the road, wondering if he should leave her, she didn't seem to want him there anyway.

"Course ya can sit in it, just don't seem loike yer havin' a good toime in there."

She looked up at him with a pout.

"Because I'm not hiding from you"

She glanced at the house before looking back at the BLU sniper.

She scrunches up, clinging to the parcel tighter.

"Daddy"

The dream seemed to flicker, only young Sammie, and Blu staying clear. Soon yelling could be heard all around them as if it was being broad cast on several speakers. An angry male voice could be heard, with a placating woman's voice. Though the words couldn't be made out.

Sammie shivered at hearing the voices.

"Ah. He sounds loike a real winner." BLU was not accustomed to dealing with children, especially not ones that were crying that he happened to run into while walking down a dirt road to nowhere. But he couldn't find it in himself to just leave her.

"What's in th' box?"

"Daddy's a good man!... Just..."

She might hate being treated like a boy, but she still was very loyal to her father.

Her hands slackened around the box as she looked down at it.

"It's something Mummy has to return. But I wanted it so much."

She put it down infront of her in the ute's tray and opened it up, inside was crinkled white tissue paper and a folded sky blue sundress inside, though because of Samantha's clinging it had a few creases in it. The dress looked to be very feminine, not fitting the image of the tomboyish looking little girl, and looking a little too fancy for the Sammie BLU knew would wear in a non formal atmosphere.

"Why's she got t' return it? Looks foine t' me." Not that he was a good judge of little girls clothing, but dresses were dresses. And hey, it was blue too.

"He don't want you t' have it?" There was something here he wasn't quite getting, but he could feel that he was getting closer.

"Girly dresses and girly things have no place on a man's farm"

she pulled the dress cose to her again.

"I don't wanna be a boy."

"So don't be a boy. Since ya ain't anyway. No use pretendin' t' be somethin' ya ain't."

He nodded at the package in he hands.

"You should keep that."
