It's late after noon, in Southern Australia. The sun is slowly dropping and the distant sound of a great many sheep can be heard in the distance along with a barking dog.

But he carried on walking, having some purpose, somewhere he needed to be, though he wasn't sure what.
Nearing the farmhouse a tiny scrap of blue fabric caught his eye and he peered over the edge of the truckbed before recoiling. He hadn't meant to intrude on someone, especially not a child.
"You alroight there?"

"Who're you? /You/ don't work for daddy. If you're looking for work you have to wait till after dinner"
Her voice was fairly deep sounding for a girl, almost sounding like she was trying to make it sound deeper on purpose. She was also trying very hard to act like she wasn't crying.

"Dinner ain't for a long while anyway. Moind if I ask what yer doin' in th' back of a truck?"

"Daddy owns it. I can sit in it if I want."
Unlike now, Samantha was a very distrusting child around strangers.
"Who're you?"
She turned a little more to face him better.

"Course ya can sit in it, just don't seem loike yer havin' a good toime in there."

The dream seemed to flicker, only young Sammie, and Blu staying clear. Soon yelling could be heard all around them as if it was being broad cast on several speakers. An angry male voice could be heard, with a placating woman's voice. Though the words couldn't be made out.
Sammie shivered at hearing the voices.

She might hate being treated like a boy, but she still was very loyal to her father.
Her hands slackened around the box as she looked down at it.
"It's something Mummy has to return. But I wanted it so much."
She put it down infront of her in the ute's tray and opened it up, inside was crinkled white tissue paper and a folded sky blue sundress inside, though because of Samantha's clinging it had a few creases in it. The dress looked to be very feminine, not fitting the image of the tomboyish looking little girl, and looking a little too fancy for the Sammie BLU knew would wear in a non formal atmosphere.

"He don't want you t' have it?" There was something here he wasn't quite getting, but he could feel that he was getting closer.
