Have not skated much the last 2 weeks.  Got an hour and a half practice in on Monday the 16th, and another 2 hours with a lesson from Coach L on Friday the 20th.  We worked on half flip and I actually did one correctly.  Of course it will take me months to get another one, but at least I finally did one ( Read more... )

Weekends are usually spent with my husband, but he is out of town for a few weeks, so on Saturday I went to a Swing Dance held by our newish local dance studio.  It was quite fun, and there were enough extra men that I was able to dance pretty much the entire 3 hours.  These dances end fairly early (10PM) so I had made plans to go out with a friend ( Read more... )

Wednesday I skated for about 2 hours and had a lesson with Coach L.  We reviewed the horrible awful no-good Fiesta Tango for about 10 minutes, then moved on to powerpulls, which were a huge joke.  We also talked about my chronically strained R hip which I'm starting to think might actually be my lower back and not a  hip flexor.  Need to dig out my ( Read more... )

I had to cancel my skate and lesson on Wednesday afternoon.  But I think I’ve finally gotten my schedule straightened out - I will probably only be able to skate 2x a week most weeks - Wednesday mornings with Coach L and Friday afternoons with DavidBowie.  I will also do 2.5 hrs of ballroom on Tuesdays.  So if I make sure I do a kickboxing or other ( Read more... )
