...Can we not speak of what happened in the most recent experiment?

I extend my sincere apologies to anyone I met during that time. [NNNNNNNNNGH] I was not myself.

...

And might I ask if people would be willing to give me their autographs? I find it is better to ask in person, but my projects keep me indoors a good deal and I'm so far behind.

it's an excuse to get drunk, technology otaku, does not want, on an epic quest, malnosso times are not happy fun times, being japanese

[Have an autograph! Her cheerful handwriting is somewhat unpracticed, but she's careful to make it nice and neat.]

There you go. Are you trying to get these from the whole village?

Ah! Thank you, Marica-san!

And yes...eventually. I would like to collect them all some day, but slowly and over time.

I imagine it'd be tough getting signatures from the more, uh, dangerous types around here.

Ah...yes, but I suppose....I could...

[But what if they were famous!! How could he... Oh...]

Perhaps that would be best done over the journals.

If you could manage to persuade them. Though I'm not sure why you'd want their signatures in the first place. [She figures he's collecting them to commemorate friendships or something.]

For the novelty? They are like rare cards in a deck. Sometimes they are not the most useful or even the ones you especially want, but they are rare and so they must be had. A collection is not complete without the rare cards!

O-Oh. [......... Kind of like collecting every Starbearer on the Tablet of Promise. Not that she could ever say that out loud.]

Isn't it kind of an endless mission, though? There are always people coming and going.

That is the joy of collecting! A never-ending struggle against time and tides to achieve the perfect collection!

Well... It must take a lot of dedication, that's for sure. Did you do this back home too?

In...a way. [Yes. But not with people like this. 2D people coming to life!!!! It is so much more exciting.]

It's lucky that your hobby was able to carry over here.

It is, yes.... Although it is a bit more complicated here as I cannot tell people why I want their signatures without breaking a fourth wall or damaging someone's vision of reality.

[And now he sounds like he's talking to himself.] Although some might not be so upset with the truth should I tell them... While others have a hard time accepting even some truths which are quite normal where I am from. Not that I can--

[---!!]

Ah, pardon me. I got away from myself.

Fourth... wall? [Damaging someone's vision of reality?]

That sounds like some serious stuff. Don't tell me our signatures have some kind of... mystical powers in them or something.

A holy place for some of my people. [He won't say which of them because that would be fourth walling, too.]
