CHARACTER

Name: Yoko
Age: 24
Series: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Gender: Female
Occupation: Teacher, co-leader of Dai-Gurren
Point of canon to be drawn in: Not applicable; AU
Appearance: Yoko has one dangerous body with wide hips, a tiny waist...and "busty" doesn't even begin to do her justice. All of this is comes with long, flowing, bright red hair--usually put up in some fashion, usually a ponytail--and passionate goldenrod eyes. Yoko typically wears clothes that would be much more at home in the red-light district; tight and skimpy. The amount of skin she shows has purpose: representing her position in the gang, pleasing Kamina, and comfort (apparently).
Personality: Yoko is a spunky, no-nonsense, steadfast, selfless woman, with looks to kill and a really big gun to do it with if you dare mention it. She keeps a straight face in every situation...or tries to at least. Along with being a very strong individual, she's also a strong team player, taking on her duties without question or hesitation, or even taking up unassigned tasks without having to be asked to. She also has times where she takes on the role of the mother hen, but usually only after the battle is fought and won. Her choice of wardrobe usually leads people to think that she's sexually promiscuous, but that couldn't be farther from the truth--she's a remarkably loyal and dedicated lover.
Abilities:Yoko is skilled with pretty much any kind of long-range weapon, although she prefers the sniper rifle she was given when she was a kid. In combat, she hangs behind to take out enemies who might be attempting a sneak attack on those in front. However, she doesn't do very well in hand-to-hand combat, even if she will resort to it if she has to. Her weapon looks much like a dark blue Barrett M82. It's slightly longer than she is tall and is pretty heavy, but she handles it like a pro. It's capable of using a variety of ammo, including high-power electric blasts, arrows, high-caliber bullets, and squishy ("uranium") bullets. It has a pink adjustable strap along the barrel for easy transportation.
History: Yoko was raised single-handedly by her father, a small-time weapons dealer; she has no memory of her mother, other than what her father told her (which were usually hardly believable stories that made Yoko's mother sound like Superwoman. Not that Yoko would know any better--she was just a kid). She had a relatively normal childhood--went to school, did her homework, and played with her father. In fact, she spent so much time with her father that she regularly accompanied him to his deals. Whether it was nature or nurture, Yoko held a passionate interest in firearms, so much so that her father often joked that "she knew how to fire, disassemble, and fix a gun before she could walk." On her fifteenth birthday, her father gave her a special, one-of-a-kind, commissioned rifle that practically became a part of her.
It was almost a year after this when Yoko's father was murdered by an infuriated client who swore that he'd been cheated into buying faulty weaponry. When she came home from school that day to find the police there, she ran before they could put her into foster care. That's when she found herself among several street gangs, all vying for her personality, experience, and smoking hot body. She met up with Kamina of the Dai-Gurren gang, of which was particularly passionate in kicking enough ass to get her to join. At first, Yoko was surprised and confused by all the stunts that gangs were pulling just to get her attention, but eventually decided that Kamina was by far the most interesting of them all--whilst keeping a dismissive and disgusted facade to cover up how smitten she was with his act. By the time Yoko had finally made it official that she joined Dai-Gurren, the gang--because of Kamina's relentless attacks on others, gradually taking up more territory and more members--had grown into a fairly successful organization.
Stellar student by day and gang member by night, Yoko, working by Kamina's side, helped Dai-Gurren grow even stronger, especially in finances. She had a talent for knowing what businesses had potential for success and oft suggested that Kamina invest in them. Three years passed, and the relationship between Yoko and Kamina grew deeper, and Yoko graduated from high school. Just before she left Treno for college, she told Kamina that she loved him and was relieved to find that the feeling was mutual. Her next four years were spent mostly at college, visiting Treno to take care of gang duties over her breaks, and getting weekend visits from Kamina. Yoko graduated with a Bachelors in Education, returned to Treno and began working at the renovated Konohana Academy as a teacher.
Sample journal post: To any of our potential and past clients,

I've had enough of people checking out goods that are not for sale. Stop asking if they are. Nor are they yours for window shopping as you please. The next person I catch blatantly staring during a deal is getting a pelvis full of hot lead, free of charge.

Got it?
Sample role-playing post: It's that time of day. It's not much different than when the sun sets and the moon comes out of hiding from between the clouds. When mild-mannered teacher becomes kick-ass gang leader. Yoko stands, in nothing but underwear, staring into the depth of her closet, planning her outfit for the evening. Her hand runs through the hanging articles, finally choosing a black tube top. As she struggles with the top to get it over her chest, the phone starts to ring, and she curses under her breath. She lifts her leg, nudges the phone off of its receiver, and jabs the "speaker" button with her toe.

"What is it?" Yoko asks, finally getting her top in place and pulling her hair out from under it. She glances over to the mirror and adjusts herself.

"Ah--Miss Yoko. Um--we've found something interesting down here in Research."

"Yeah?" She pulls out a mid-thigh length skirt, matching the top, and slides it on.

"We've picked up on some strange energy. We're not one-hundred percent sure on this, but it looks like dimensional activity."

Yoko checks herself from behind. ...Did this skirt get smaller? "What does that mean?"

"We might be visited by some guests of...otherworldly origin. We don't think this is cause to be worry, but it's certainly important information."

She slips on a cropped denim jacket and cork platform heels, lacing them up her legs. It still feels like something is missing...

"Who else knows about this?" She starts digging through her dresser.

"Well, we have yet to inform Kamina. But other than that, we're pretty sure that the government doesn't know about this."

"I'll tell him." Ah, found just what she was looking for. "Call again when you have more information." The man on the other end has hardly enough time to say "Yes, ma'am" before the phone is hung up. Yoko sits herself on the edge of the bed and pulls the frilly garter over her shoe and up her leg, hiding beneath the length of her skirt--it could be a very nice surprise for a certain someone. Satisfied with her work, she gathers her hair and puts it up, heading downstairs.
