Fandom 16: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor/Kid Icarus Uprising
Title: On Call
Fandom: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor/Kid Icarus Uprising

Characters: Pit, Palutena
Words: 142

"Pit, get the phone."

The angel frowned, "We have a phone?"

After a short pause, Palutena answered, "You're right, we don't have a phone. Why is a phone ringing in my temple? Pit, did you buy a phone and forget to turn the ringer off?"

"What would I need a phone for? I have a direct psychic connection to all my best friends and I can just fly to the pizza..."

Another jovial but annoyingly piercing ring tone, this time much louder and longer, announced Pit's abrupt disappearance from the room in a flash of blue pixels and random scraps of code in an arcane language.

"Oh, balls," Palutena gracefully announced like the regal Goddess she was, "Summoners again. And now I suppose I'm officially Law faction again. I'm going to have a word with Metatron, and possibly a bill for damages."

Fandom 17: The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky
Title: A Fresh Start?
Fandom: The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky
Rating: PG-13/Gen
Characters: Weissman, Loewe
Words: 350

"I don't want to hear any more excuses. Not when it concerns my little brother," snapped Loewe, "I'm tired of you lying to us, manipulating both of us. I was told that Oroboros was about choosing for yourself when I signed up. Joshua couldn't choose one way or the other when he started up but he's not your broken doll any more."

"Ah, but he isn't exactly fixed, is he? And this will be a good opportunity for him, I swear," Georg Weissman put on his benevolent smile, the one he used when pretending to be a benevolent old Professor in a dusty local museum. Within the organisation, it fooled nobody. It mostly just made Loewe's temper flare up even more.

"How is lying to him and sending him on a doomed mission that could easily get him killed supposed to help him?"

"Because we know that man's psychology and we have this planned down to the smallest detail. He'll react the way we want him to, don't you fear. Then he'll imprint upon Joshua once he does his bedraggled stray kitten act and your brother will have a family for once. A powerful family who won't be harmed again. He'll even have an older sister to teach him how normal siblings behave towards each other."

"If that was meant to goad me, Weissman, it was petty of you," Loewe glared at him, "I do not care how higher you are in this Organisation's ranks than me. If my brother is harmed in this mission, you will pay for it."

"Seeing as that would make it a failed mission and the Grand Master does not tolerate failure, I most assuredly would pay, yes," he said, "Truth be told, I did not order this mission, its details are mostly out of my control. Perhaps you would be better off bringing it up with, say, Campanella."

"You know how difficult that man is to talk to!" Loewe growled. Resisting the urge to stab the man here and now, he gave Weissman another venomous glare, spun around and stormed out of the office.

Fandom 18: Fallen London/Tales of Graces
Title: Huntress of the Crab Tyrant
Fandom: Fallen London/Tales of Graces
Rating: PG-13/Gen
Characters: Sophie
Words: 222
Summary: She fell from out of a false sky like a false star.
Tags: mild spoilers, fusion, crack crossover, you can tell I use RNG to choose these

Who is she? A kind stranger gave her the name 'Sophie', once. After a flower, apparently. That probably wasn't her original name, though, if she even had one. As for who she is, that's a different matter entirely.

They say she came from the 'sky', a fallen star. Not real stars, not quite, and not just a girl either. She remembered nothing but the first vagabond to try and take advantage of such an innocent little girl learned the hard way that she'd retained certain instincts, or maybe taught reflexes. As well as fighting like an enraged Clay Man, she possessed certain unusual proclivities. For instance, the favourite food that she craved - Royal Crablets.

What are Royal Crablets, you ask? Well, consider Prisoner's Honey. Recall that there is a form of it produced by whatever not-bees secrete the stuff, reserved exclusively by those Queens of their hives that nobody witnesses and lives to tell the tale. There are other tyrants of other hives, especially down in the water's hidden depths where no humans could go to disturb the natural order. Those Deep Tyrants and their spawn... no sane human would consider eating one. Sophie, however, dreams of it every night. Or maybe remembers something, at least subconsciously.

And then there are the strange ticking, whirring noises that come from her heart...

Fandom 19: GrimGrimoire/Star Ocean: The Last Hope
Title: Sleeping Dogs
Fandom: GrimGrimoire/Star Ocean: The Last Hope
Rating: PG-13/Gen
Characters: Lylme, Advocat, Opalneria
Words: 212
Summary: The new student looks like a young child but is no naive waif.
Tags: fusion, spoilers, crack crossovers

"What a positively DELIGHTFUL young lady! I..."

Rolling her eyes, the girl fixed him a look somewhere between knowing and, frankly, bored. Suddenly, those shimmering, wide, blue pools made the teacher wonder what lurked in their depths.

"I'm not actually this young, 'kay?" she drawled, "And I know what you're up to, so you can stop right now. I can smell demonic presence on the smart one with the pointy ears, real dark magic that he's been using recently, an' I can tell the pretty lady is a ghost an' isn't really under anyone's binding an' is like one of my doggies waiting to get loose so she can turn on me. An' the lion-head man, an' the lady who is like an angel, they're not quite alive, an'..."

"Okay, smart girl, so you know all our secrets," Advocat snapped, "I suppose they didn't call you a child prodigy for nothing..."

"That's not a real child," confirmed Opalneria without looking up from the notes she was making.

"Just leave me alone an' let me study an' my doggies will leave you alone, 'kay?"

"Certainly, child, although I have a way with hellhounds, I'm warning you," the dapper devil informed her, "Now, what exactly did you mean when you said Lujei's getting loose?"

Fandom 20: Final Fantasy X
Title: To Calm the Stream
Fandom: Final Fantasy X
Rating: PG-13/Het
Characters: Tidus, Sin, implied Tidus/Yuna
Words: 115
Summary: The constant stream of damned souls had only himself to help them. Inspired by song 'Pure a Stream' from the Star Ocean OST.
Tags: spoilers, inspired by music

Even as he watched, souls flowed in rivulets of silver light up towards the waiting hungry maw of the being known as Sin. Like a gigantic predatory fish, it consumed all that came close to it indiscriminately, its primordial armoured crustacean features not even blinking to register what was happening. That could easily have been me, thought Tidus, but no, something, somewhere, has spared me. Possibly some other future that wants to consume me whole but that will come in its own time and I'll fight against it with every breath, if I genuinely have those. Whatever the case, he vowed, these restless spirits will know peace. In their name, in Yuna's and his own.
