The little bioship thanked Harrier for keeping him company, a flourish of his large white wings as he spun around in circles, firing his jets on and off again. With a final flash of the lights in his cockpit, he darted off into a brightly coloured nebula that obscured the entrance to his home world. Harrier waved until Opa-Opa went out of sight, then sighed and gave Uriah a pointed look.

"I still feel like I'm deceiving him," he told the dragon, "He's a genuine friend to me. It's not good to lead him on like this."

The huge dragon's telepathic response, a rumbling sound that echoed through the hunter's mind, "Are you not a friend back to him? You act as a friend would. You wish him no ill. From what I see, the circumstance you worry about will not come to pass. His heart is free from the evil."

"I thought you sensed traces of the dark energy..."

"Only in the sense that they are the enemy's bloodstains on his claws. I worried that he would be infected. I wish for someone to keep a close eye on him, just in case. That is all. Do not worry."

Fandom 32: Chrono Trigger/ Xenoblade Chronicles X
Title: Secret of the Lifehold
Rating: PG-13/Gen
Characters: Magus
Words: 274
Summary: Magus looked for answers on other worlds as well as other time zones.
Tags: crossover, major spoilers for both titles

Accessing the ship's oldest records, cross referencing with what the 'humans' still knew of their planet, he knew immediately that it had all happened in exactly the same way.

Once again, there'd been a meteor at the world's prehistory, one that managed to wipe out one entire warring evolutionary line. The survivors had suddenly developed unusual amounts of self-awareness and ability to manipulate their surroundings. Then, suddenly, they'd been exposed to alien technology that allowed them to fast track to their next evolutionary state. Technology they didn't understand from aliens they didn't really know.

The data patterns on the 'Lifehold' had exactly matched the DNA samples stored within Lavos' mechanical shell, the ones that the planetary parasite used to absorb all the evolutionarily useful genetic patterns and further advance the Core, before draining the planet's life force dry and moving on. This modified version just preserved patterns that the colonists wanted to keep of themselves but it could be... repurposed. And it was easier to move this way.

No doubt the aliens hadn't looked like Lavos - the thing wasn't exactly welcoming and easy to trust - but it kept details on all its previously subjugated races, could create virtually anything from any matter. He had his suspicions about this 'Elma' who didn't seem to have a history that matched anyone else's on the ship. She might not even know she was being used.

Magus didn't really care, but neither did he care about this ship's fate. He'd seen so many worlds die by now. All he cared about was which one would hold the key to his location and rescue of his sister.

Fandom 33: Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon

Rating: PG-13/Gen
Characters: Marth, unspecified character
Words: 224
Summary: Marth finds an Aum Staff.

Marth gazed in wonder at the fragile-looking woman, the ornate staff in her hands that also looked ready to break at any moment, the fallen warrior now lying there, about to sit up, utter confusion on his face.

Looking into his eyes was like looking into a window to the divine. He wasn't sure what to expect: either horror, he supposed, or awe similar to his own.

"What did you see?" he whispered, helping the man to his feet. Every healer in the party was fussing over him, checking his vitals, pumping him with curative magic just in case.

"I... I can't describe it," the resurrected man's voice sounded distant, "I wasn't in my body... everything was so new..."

"Did you see the Goddess?"

"I'm not sure I'd know what the real Goddess would look like if I got up close, Your Highness."

"Fair enough," Marth mused, "Are you well enough to return to the front lines, or do you require a period of rest?"

"I've rested well enough in every sense of the word, Your Highness," he said. Then he paused, his face looking very serious, "Your Highness... I had this feeling when I was there... the gates didn't seem that tightly locked, you see, or that far away, and I think that there must be a way..."

To do this every time...

Title: A Quiet Afternoon at the Plaza
Rating: PG-13/Gen
Characters: Blanc & Neptune
Words: 256
Summary: In which Blanc complains bitterly about a lack of StreetPass hits.
Tags: meta

"So, this is the Mii Plaza. It's kind of pretty," Neptune acceded. The two of them sat at the outdoor cafe table under a brightly coloured parasol, sipping iced tea. The weather was pleasant if the sun a little overpowering. Well cultivated lawns stretched off in most directions, a small forest in one, the main plaza in the other, with its fountain square and neatly tended gardens.

"It's pissing me off," muttered Blanc, giving her cup a death glare it probably didn't deserve.

"Huh? It's usually better?"

"It's usually got people in it. The place is practically deserted," she growled, "Again."

"Its kind of relaxing without the crowds," said Neptune, "If you're worried about sales, though, then seriously, lower your prices."

"It's not just the sales. This is supposed to be a meeting place. The whole thing is designed around sharing the experience with friends," she said, "It used to be too crowded, especially if people meet at a train station, or even worse, during a convention. But now you can hang around a station all day and see nothing."

"We could invite all our friends over!" suggested Neptune, "Um... Falcom could sing? And Vert could flash her..."

"No, that's not going to be a good long term solution," muttered Blanc. Then she snapped her fingers, "I know! Its because I haven't added anything new for a long time. I need to change things up a little."

"Change is always..."

"Hey, Neptune, what you think I should build? A model car racetrack or a trade centre?"

Fandom 35: Chrono Trigger/Dungeons and Dragons: Warriors of the Eternal Sun
Title: And We Still haven't Found Your Cat
Rating: PG-13/Gen
Characters: OC narrator
Words: 171
Summary: The Magic Academy finds a way to stabilise the portal and use it at will.
Tags: crossover, references to DnD Second Ed lore in general, journal format

Day 23, Year 410, University of Magic, Portals Dept.

After several decades of research, we have now reached the stage where we are able to replicate the conditions of the teleportation accident in a controlled environment. We have verified that the shift was definitely travel through time. Soon we will be able to stabilise the portal enough to send an expedition team through. We are hoping to extract resources that are now unavailable, find out the answers to various historical questions and ultimately extend our lives using time loops. Of course, we are researching the possibility of time paradox and other disruptions to the flow of time we may cause. Additionally, we have discovered that the monster causing the time rift to stay closed was being manipulated by energies outside the scope of our experiment, arcane readings that cannot possibly be from this Earth. How long have they existed for? We must be very careful when researching this phenomenon but also think of how we can use it to our advantage.
