my experience at the capital grappling classic
in brief:
womens heavyweight white/blue- took gold one fight... they'd combined white and blue women due to too few blue belts and just divided by weight class... I got a bi so after 2 heavyweight women white belts beat each other up for the priviledge of fighting me I trounced the winner in something under 30seconds
I got o soto gari and went down with her into side control, went to take mount, she caught me in half, I submitted her from on top in half with a brabo choke
fought up to purple- took silver one fight, lost on points to the only other woman in the division a purple belt who outweighs me by about 20lbs... this fight rocked though, a full 6 minutes of nonstop action afterwhich I was panting and she fell to her knees and nearly started retching
highlights as I recall: she escaped 2 triangles and 3 atempted armbars from guard and I ended up running her off the mat trying for a single leg, I got swept a time or two and my guard got passed she almost got an americana from side control
