This is going to sound really stupid. Just thought I'd tell you off the bat.

I, actually, am not too fond of calling them by the vehicle make. I prefer using their function instead. Like, I've never refered to Hoist as a tow truck, I always call him a doctor or medic or the likes. It's more...personal that way.

For me it depends on the circumstances during the story imo. With Jazz for ex., I'll call him a Porsche on occasion (not Porsche 935 Turbo, either)

I'll stop or it'll become tl;dr

But yes, I have to agree w/ you on that, it makes sense.

Heh - I never use the car makes or models or whatever because I totally fail at recognizing or remembering any of them. Can't tell a Porsche from a Corvette, I'm afraid ^^

i'm with fly_buggy_fly. i don't use their make and model, because the Chevy Corvette (in any incarnation) is just a really sexy car. it isn't a transforming alien robot who thinks and feels and is a big metal person. the make and model is cold to me in that context.

but i agree with your peeve. for the love of all that's holy, you only needed to tell me the make and model once.

that does not, of course, mean that you cannot continue to describe them that way. i'm certainly not down on anyone who does.
