Hmm. And I guess this can be my version of what happens when Kid gets "rescued" ;]

"...Kid." Black Star said in a low voice. Why were Kid's eyes brown? And where the heck were his white stripes?
Kid turned away, gazing around the room. He noted he was definitely in the Shibusen infirmary. But how did he get here? He tried to remember back on what had happened, only to squeeze his eyes shut to block the memory.
"Kid?" Tsubaki called softly, touching his arm. "What happened...?"
She must be referring to his lack of sanzu lines in his hair. It was Noah. Noah did this to him. Kid opened his eyes again, and looked into the faces of his friends. He wanted so badly to tell them, tell them everything. Yet, he couldn't. His voice wasn't working at the moment, apparently.
"Ah, son, you're awake," Shinigami-sama glided into the cramped room, filling up most of the space. Kid couldn't tell what emotion his 'father' was currently displaying. Happiness? Sadness? Relief? ...Disappointment?
"Shinigami-sama..." Tsubaki turned to the god. "Kid's doing well, right?"
"Yes, yes. Stein said he was a bit brutally cut up is all," The Reaper cocked his head to the side, towards Kid. "...And you seem to not be healing at your normal rate, Kid."
It was deadly silent for a moment, as the teen stared coldly at his 'dad'. "Kid..." The god must have noticed. "Where's your sanzu lines...?"
His only response came as a glare, and Kid averted his eyes to the bottom of his bed. He noticed his legs still felt numb.
"Kid? What happened?"
He tried to wiggle his toes; they didn't move.
"Kid, what did they do to you? Kid?"
The teen grimly noticed he was dressed in clean clothes. Who changed him? Stein? He shuddered.
"Come on, Kid. Speak to us," Kid looked up at the new speaker, Black Star. The ninja put on a sad smile when he got the other meister's attention. "What's wrong? Why are you like this?"
What's wrong? Everything. I'm like this because of Noah. It's his fault. Kid glanced swiftly back to the god looming over his bed. And, it's your fault.

Black Star let out an exasperated sigh, slapping his arm over his eyes. He and Tsubaki were back at home, having left the infirmary an hour ago. Liz and Patti were in tears when they heard Kid was back, and they rushed in to see him. Black Star started getting irritated when they were sobbing and hugging all over him; so he left with Tsubaki. He wasn't sure why that bothered him so much.
"Black Star, are you alright?" He removed his arm, and his eyes shifted up, peering into Tsubaki's. He gave her a small grin, and placed his arm back over his face.
"Heh. Why wouldn't I be?" The teen smirked; what a stupid question.
The girl just walked away, towards the bedroom. If he wanted to sulk, he could do it by himself. She was becoming fed up with his behavior. Tsubaki knew he was stressing over Kid, but he shouldn't take it out on the people around him - especially if they were trying to help.
When Black Star heard his weapon's door close, he sat up on the couch. Maybe Liz and Patti were gone; he nodded, pretty sure of himself. He paused, waiting for Tsubaki's light snores. When he was positive she was asleep, he bolted out the door. He couldn't wait any longer, curiosity was a big weakness of his.
It was a little past midnight when Black Star arrived at Shibusen. He stepped quickly through the entrance, and easily found his destination. The ninja inhaled deeply, and twisted the doorknob. It opened effortlessly, as if inviting him in.
The room seemed so wide now, with nothing occupying it, besides Kid and the bed. The window displayed a smiling moon, blood dripping from its mouth. Black Star cringed at the memory of finding Kid, bloody and mangled. He switched his gaze to the bed - to Kid. The wounded teen was sitting up, leaning against the narrow bed's headboard. His eyes were half-lidded; his gaze appeared to be distant, in thought.
"Kid?" The said boy jumped slightly at hearing his name. Kid twisted his head slightly to face the intruder; it was Black Star. He sighed, and turned back around. The meister didn't feel like dealing with the ninja right then; he wanted to think some more.
Black Star swiftly crossed the room, and hesitated a bit, before finally sitting on the edge of the bed. He faced the other direction. He peered over his shoulder to see if Kid cared, but the boy wasn't even looking at him. He was lost in thought again.
The two were silent; they didn't say a word to each other. Black Star didn't mind so much though, he just liked the feel of knowing Kid was right there with him. Kid hadn't spoken at all since he woke up, and it didn't look like he was going to talk anytime soon. That was fine, too.
"You know, Kid," Black Star broke the silence. "We all missed you a lot. Your father was worried too. I think..."
No reply.
He took another breath. "I don't know what your kidnapper did to you, but it would help if you said something."
Kid didn't say a word.
"So... Don't you even care?" Black Star risked taking a look at Kid's face, only to notice that the teen cleverly masked his emotions. If there were emotions to be shown. He placed a hand on Kid's shoulder, shaking him a little. "We need to know what happened, Kid."
Nothing.
Black Star took back his hand, and leaned against the headboard as well. "Fine. Don't speak. I won't talk 'till you do." If Kid wanted to keep quiet, he could do that, too.
With those words said though, the eerie silence became awkward. Kid frowned, gazing over at the boy next to him. Black Star keeping quiet, huh? That would happen after hell freezes over. Which he started to think actually happened, when an hour passed with no word from Black Star.
Kid debated with himself in his head. It's not that he didn't want to talk, he simply couldn't. Talking ...would require Kid to explain everything - absolutely everything. And with the memories of Noah haunting his mind every second, he knew he wouldn't be able to say anything without having an emotional outburst. It hurt a lot to keep it inside, but it was better this way. No one needed to know what went on --
"God! I can't take it! Kid, you better freakin' talk to me, dude!" The ninja shouted, and shook Kid's shoulders, who let out a yelp in surprise, and pain. He immediately let go, apologizing. "Ah, Kid, I'm sorry. Are you okay? God, I'm so sorry..." Black Star started cursing himself, not noticing right away that the other boy was crying.
The assassin was still hitting himself in the head and too busy swearing to see the tears. Kid tried to wipe them away, but they kept flowing - and gained the attention of Black Star, finally.
"Kid, er, does it hurt that bad?" Black Star breathed, not knowing how to comfort his grieving friend. "I didn't mean to, I swear --"
"No." It was almost inaudible, but the blue-haired meister heard it. Kid was still swiping at his eyes, and whimpered, "It's not that at all..." His voice was high pitched, on the verge of hysteria. He couldn't help it now. Kid started shaking uncontrollably, bawling.
Black Star panicked. Should he hold him? Should he tell him it was okay? The teen was never any good in comforting someone else, especially the usually composed Kid. That's the last person he'd think he'd have to cheer up. The wailing teen brought the ninja back to reality. "Um, Kid, it's... alright...?" The lack of confidence shone evidently in his voice.
"I-I-It's n-not-t..." Kid sobbed, struggling to even get the words out. He still shook as tears slid down his face, soaking his white button-up. He could care less if he was ruining his shirt; he was damaged anyway. Nothing could be perfect.
Black Star stopped trying to think of something, and just did what he thought was right. He wrapped his arms around his friend, hugging him closer. "Kid. Kid. Kid." He whispered his friend's name smoothly in his ear, and placed his head over Kid's shoulder. What Kid was crying about was beyond him, but at least he got him to talk. It was a start.

Laughing, the sun shone brightly, lighting up the small room. It was rather hot out, but the room stayed an unusual chilly temperature. Kid awoke to the sound of teeth chattering. He tried to move, but was pinned down by some heavy force. He glanced over his shoulder. No wonder he managed to stay warm; Black Star's arms were wrapped around him, tangling himself in the thin bed sheets.
Kid sighed, remembering what happened. Black Star actually managed to make him cry. He wasn't the cause of the tears; he just broke the small shield Kid held, concealing what the teen was feeling. It felt good to let it out though, making Kid regret he ever held it in. But crying in front of Black Star? A light shade of pink adorned his features, embarrassed about revealing his emotions so crudely.
There was a slight shift in the bed as Black Star turned over on his back, letting loose a loud snore, and releasing Kid. The injured meister soon missed that warmth.
The ninja mumbled something about being cold and rubbed his eyes. "Ugh." He sat up, yawning. "God... What time is it?"
"Morning." The faint sound caused the awakened teen to flinch, and he glanced to his left. Ah, that's right. He fell asleep, holding onto Kid. The memory still freshly burnt into the back of his head; he never seen Kid so upset.
But, for some reason, he somehow managed to get the boy to talk. Black Star grinned, and gave Kid a pat on his shoulder. "Well, I'm glad you're talkin', Kid. Heh, you feel better right?"
"Yeah." Not entirely.
"That's awesome, Kid. Want me to bring..." Black Star choked a bit on his words. "Uh, Liz and Patti?" It came out as more of a squeak.
"No." I can't bring myself to talk them yet.
The assassin cocked an eyebrow at this. Not that he minded, really, but they were his weapons. He was their meister. Now that he's talking - barely; but still -, he'd want to talk to his partners, at least, right? "Ah... Are you sure Kid?"
The black-haired boy sat up slowly, and hesitated. Liz and Patti had been curious and worried about his current appearance as well. Did he really want to deal with that?
You're a human now, Kid. Noah's words laughed at him, etching themselves in his mind. There isn't anything you can do, but put the blame on him...
"Kid...?"
That didn't matter at the minute. He could deal with that later. "I'm fine. I want to sleep." The sore boy faced the other direction, and slumped back into the sheets. He heard the other meister sigh. Black Star didn't realize how much that hurt him.
"Alright then," Kid felt the bed rise. Black Star scratched the back of his head. "Umm... I'll come visit, okay? And stuff..."
Thank you, is what the brown-eyed boy wanted to say. But he couldn't accomplish such a feat. Thanks, Black Star. For being here with me. Kid felt like tearing up again when he heard the other boy's feet shuffling away. Why? Why had Noah done this? Why?
Oh. That's right. Shinigami played a role in this. The bastard.
