mka tutorial
primeiroamor asked me to create a tutorial. well *release some of my secrets* to be precise so urm a tutorial is under the cut. one is colouring another small paragraph about effects.
So first things first. I do my icons in order of
- coloring first
- any additional crap ie rotating
- texture
so im going to be using mka pictures mka are love <3 when im searching for pictures with two people I usually try and get them hugging or far apart. I hate pictures where they are just leaning. Leaning = crap.
when I crop ill usually cut someone off. This time its mk because there leaning to the right. and mk is on the right. go figure
my pictures a bit orange. Which is kind of skanky. And I hate skank lol. So my main aim is to get mks top gorgeously bright red. And the majority of the picture cyany
new selective colour layer
reds: -100, 0, - 22, 0
yellows: +100, 0, -94, 0
neutrals: +52, 0, +6, -31
so what did we just do? We made sure the red was a little pinkish, we made the yellows (yacky orange) cynaish taking out the majority of skintones. With the neutral we adding lots of cyan, and took out the dark tones for *MATTE PERFECTION* lol.
now I want it all light and pretty. So new colour balance layer
midtones: -100, -27, - 100
shadows: +100, -1, -29
highlights: -5, 0, -9
new selective colours layer. set the method to absolute instead of relative
reds: -57, 0, +100, 0
yellows: -100, 0, -57, 0
neutrals: +30, 0, -21, -29
new hue/saturation/lighten layer
up the saturation, I upped mine to 46. and urm then find the best place to put it amongst the layers. TADA.
so now I have amazingly hott colouring. WHAT EFFECTS SHALL I DO?
well, im one for rotations. So I made a simple boring icon. And then I mirrored the image. Duplicated the layer flipped it 180 degrees. Hott anyone? Then go on texture overload.
