I HAVE FOUND A WELSH ROCK BAND.

And that really does deserve capitals. Because they're Welsh, and they're really good. The Manic Street Preachers. And they're socialists.

I may have discovered a new rock love to - well, never replace the Libertines - but perhaps to make up a bit for their loss.

All right, and look, I'm determined to see A Very ( Read more... )

I think you should get a plane over to england. Then we can drink tea and watch bad education, with subtitles, and talk about boys.

My ex boyfriend was called "Richey James". The same as the 'manics guitarist. Not that you're probably interested. Oh, and on your pretend visit to England, we can go and see Babyshambles, because the Libertines have sort of melted into a puddle of heroin now, haven't they?

i find it amusing that you've found the manic street preachers. because that indicates that you were not aware of their existence until now. which is a bit funny. not to be a smug european or anything, but it is a bit funny.

It's probably very funny. I was looking them up and realized that it was as if I had gone the first sixteen years of life without knowing about, say, Queen. Which would be, frankly, a horrible situation.
However, I am happily making up for my Americanness at the moment.

There's probably all these other bands I'm not aware of either, and I really, really need to start listening more to Bjork, and ... good god, I just need to get out more often. Or something.

Hey, I'll chat with you about boys anytime. One of my favorite subjects in fact.
