The morning I had to leave the writing program at Massachusetts, I hadn't even packed my things. Our last class ended by eleven; I kept thinking what I'd been saying the whole week, at odd moments I'd say, "I can't leave." I kept thinking that, I can't leave. I can't go home ( Read more... )

i've got to agree... that's one of the best written LJ entries ever. what HAS writing camp done to you? turned you into even more of a writer? what IS this?

oh, and the haircut is GORGEOUS.

love you, and i'm glad you're back, even if you aren't.

I have days now when I look in the mirror and am like, ahh I have the coolest hair ever. It's like Alex's fedora hat, it's cooler than me even. And as Zaphod Beeblebrox said in Hitchhiker's, "I am so cool you could keep a side of meat in me for a month."

This really deserves a hug or something. I enjoy reading about an airport and not getting bored. *Looks over entire LJ and completely does not find a good way to respond to any of the more meaningful beautiful things* You got a haircut? Wow, I didn't know you could just leave magical adventurous beautiful camps that we can only dream of and just get haircuts. Or is there like a beautician college right next door? Or do you have a friend who sneaked in scissors without security knowing? I'm as curious about your haircut as I am about those little air-mask things. And then of course it would be so rude to ask someone who experienced the pleasure of using an air-mask thing because they'd probably say "You terrible rude person! I almost died! How am I supposed to remember what the air-mask thing was like?"

It was like being at a college, actually, they let you go into town and to restaurants and haircut places.

I've wondered about those air-mask things ever since I saw Fight Club, there's this part where Brad Pitt's character is talking to Edward Norton's character on a plane and he tells him that all the oxygen masks do is make you so relaxed you stop worrying about crashing.

God, yes, write more. Do you mind if I have random friends of mine read your livejournal? Because, wow. I knew I missed you, but I didn't realize how much I missed your writing.

I miss you too. Your utter coolness, of course, and just the sort of Sarah-ness of you.

And as for the random friends thing, of course you can. Half my friends list is people I've never met, who just commented and asked me to friend them. And most of them don't live anywhere remotely near me - for instance, Vivian is Norwegian, and Chris lives in New Zealand.

There are probably people who look at this every so often and just don't comment. I'm curious what the real number is.

On the other hand, I get people I actually know whose only opinion on this is "Use an lj-cut."

Kim, You cut your hair! I hope I get to do cool stuff like that when I go on my trip. And turbulence is amazingly fun unless your in the back of a huge plane and you're praying you're not going to die...lol And with those oxygen masks, maybe I'd rather just lose consciousness for a while so I wouldn't have to remember crash landing in some field somewhere. And your entries are very entertaining to read.

Also, are you still planning to go on the South Africa trip? Please say yes because there's like 3 white people going and you'd be the only person I'd know. And you know how awkward it would be with just me alone with a bunch of black people...

Ahhh racist. Silly. It looks like I can't, sorry, it's too expensive and I might be having surgery around that time anyway.

Sorry for taking so long to answer this - my IB assessment was this week. Thank you very much for the compliment. Of course you may publish it. Are you going to make any alterations to it?
