[Have a vaguely bemused Atsuro in the video screen.]

Huh... So I've been 18 for a few days now, although I kinda missed my birthday with everything going on, I guess. But since time's supposedly stopped back home, I'm both 17 and 18 at the same time?

Confusing, huh?

[Pause. Huhhhh. RIGHT ONTO MAIN TOPIC.]Say, I was wondering what the situation ( Read more... )

[.........

He's not sure if you're trollin' or not, Javert. Except you're the chief of police and therefore probably aren't?]

Um, yeah, I sort of got that far...

[With a mysterious almost-smirk, Javert arches a brow. Automobiles existing at all is a novelty to the Inspector. After all, cars weren't yet invented in his time.]

What further word on the situation do you need?

[Yeah well he's not an old fogey like you =|]

Well, how to obtain one, for one... And if driver's licenses from another time that don't exist anymore would still be valid.

Dude... that's actually a good point. It's like, Schrödinger's birthday or something.

Oh, and don't forget motorcycles, man. Cars and motorcycles. You're not the only one who wants to know.

Haha, that's the dead and alive cat guy, right?

[laugh.] I'll keep you updated if I find out, then. [pause] I don't think I've seen you around before. I'm Kihara. Atsuro Kihara.

I think so. Don't quote me on that, though, science was never my thing in school. Kinda makes me wonder if I'll still be here for my birthday, though. It's a couple months until June, so we'll see.

Yosuke Hanamura. And that's probably because I'm new here. Pleasure, though.

[Have some staring. Staringggggggggg.] It's, um, June. June fifteenth. [Huh, well, new.]

Haha, well, I guess you haven't noticed yet 'cause you're new here...but time flows a little differently in Somarium. There was still snow when I woke up here and we were suffering from heat strokes back home!

Being 17 and 18 at the same time is not confusing at all. It makes a lot of sense. You believe you are still seventeen because your birthday hasn't come to pass in your world, but you believe you are eighteen because time continues here. So you accept both truths. It's really that simple.

H-huh, that makes sense...but it's kinda weird at the same time.

Well...if the grass was green but you'd never seen it and believed the grass was blue - wouldn't the grass still be green?

Wow... automobiles are still in use? I thought they were proven to be inefficient as a means of transportation... they don't have airships here? Oh, but I guess letting someone drive an airship would likely be more dangerous...

[ ... Carl is from the year 2199, derp. UH YEAH. Having two birthdays doesn't seem weird to him as much as cars existing at all does. His logic fails. ]

Huh? Airships? [...eh?] I don't think they exist, at least...?

laetatiocaedes June 16 2010, 02:34:13 UTC
O-oh, well, where I'm from, people stopped using cars a long time ago, since airship transportation is safer and cleaner...

[ A pause, in which he messes with his tophat. But this is kinda cool, this guy must be from the PAST. ] Were cars always considered birthday presents...?

Well, we have airplanes where I'm from and I don't think they're either safer or cleaner. [a laugh

Carl's next question makes him stop in confusion, before he laughs.] Haha, I don't think so! You have to be 18 before you can get a driver's license though...where I'm from, I mean. Although it's a little different here, hehe. [BECAUSE WOO he's already "learned" to drive. Yipee for AU memories =P]
