Heroes 4x15

I love it when...

Heroes neatly encapsulates one of it's own issues so neatly... as in that scene at the end of volume three, when Sylar appears between Arthur and Peter and literally stops the action in its tracks to angst about his Mommy and Daddy Issues...

Today we had the woman who knows the carnival well and is clearly Samuel's right-hand person say, "We need someone to lead us." Then she thinks for a moment. Perhaps, you say, she wants someone who knows the carnival and the people in it, who is known by them and respected? Someone like, say... her? But no, she says, quite literally, "There's a man..."

Oh, Heroes.

And also, oh, Lydia. Peter? You want Peter to lead you? THAT IS THE DUMBEST IDEA I'VE EVER HEARD. Gah. *headdesk*

...

Anyway... where was I?

Oh, yes. Emma! Poor thing! :( Cello! There, see, there's Peter demonstrating his, er... spectacular planning and leadership... skills...

But, seriously, the whole thing made me properly sad, because it was SO CUTE how she summoned him and was all delighted to see him, and it was sad, because she clearly just wanted to make out with him and he had to go and get all intense and bizarre. And then she met his mother. (Oh, and yeah, very suave, Angela. This is why Peter doesn't like to let you meet his girlfriends.) Bad, BAD date. Aw, Emma, it's not your fault he's weird, he's just lost half his soul. Yeah.

...

I keep derailing myself.

The point I am attempting (badly) to work my way around to is it seems Peter may have kind of fallen into the same track Nathan was on with him in season one... trying to save Emma from herself and her power while she's still in the flush of new love with it. Not good, not the way to go about it, and PETER YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER.

But Peter is clearly walking around in a total daze right now, which is GOOD, DAMMIT. HE SHOULD BE. THANK YOU, MILO.

OKAY, and the fact that Sylar appeared in the Emma vision CHEESED ME OFF SO MUCH. My God, show. CAN'T I HAVE ONE CHARACTER UNSULLIED BY... THAT. PLEASE?

Speaking of being sullied by that... the promo for next week is DISGUSTING. Ew. Claire so, so much needs to kill him so very, very dead.

Noah's character continues to slide further and further into the pit of irretrievably destroyed-ness. Matt... I wish Matt would stand firm on SOMETHING for at least two episodes in a row. Also, him referencing daughters gave me momentary RAGE. HELLO? MOLLY? REMEMBER HER? OH, RIGHT, NO, YOU DON'T.

OH! But Mohinder was hilarious this week. I've missed his snark. "Was it in Florida? ... Then we're good!"

... All in all I thought this week was pretty boring. I think the only highlights really were Emma's reaction to successfully summoning Peter, Christine Rose's brief, brief moment when she was allowed to actually act and was awesome, and Samuel laying the earthquake-y smackdown on Noah. Yes, I was totally cheering for Samuel in that encounter.

Oh, and Ellen Frakkin' Tigh. The casting on this show never fails to entertain. (on which note: Next week! ADAM, OMG! :D )
