Subways this weekend

Was just speaking with the wife about her travels this weekend. Supposedly the MTA has it in for NY'ers this weekend, EVERY LINE is under construction or has limited service that isn't normal weekend operation. What kind of idiocy is this? Correction the M line (runs from Middle Village-Metropolitan Avenue @ 67 St. in Queens to Bay Parkway @ 86 St

Anyone who has some idealized view of NYC should look at this list. Seriously why do we pay $2.25 per ride ($89 per month)?
