I think most of the people I know bailed on LJ when it went to full Russian ownership. The whole thing seemed real shady, which is why I basically wandered away. (that and all the comms/journals I was following were basically dead anyway, so there was never anything to see, and it's kinda sad to come in and check in on a ghost town.)

I didn't see much uproar about that actually, although it's likely because most people had already moved other places lol. It does seem shady, but so far nothing has really bothered me about my experience on here and I like all of the changes to the interface that have been made so I'm fine sticking with it, and I've been lucky to still have a few friends that are active on here and a few communities that I really enjoy that are as well :)
