Math contest, trainphobia and abstraction

Last weekend I went to the first math contest in 2007, which was held in Focsani . From my town there were 15 of us, including a teacher. We are generally the same group of people that go to all these competitions, so we all knew each other quite well.

Having this happened, I told myself that I would either mess up everything at the math contest, or do incredibly well. It turned out to be the former one.

Wouldn't practically 1st place be the latter one?

I am actually pleased with my score and with the fact that I solved all the problems, though a bit more attention would have meant first place. I suppose 2nd place still goes in the 'incredibly well' category.

Thanks! The problems weren't that hard though. [I wish they were somewhere online so I could put a link here]

The person below was actually from our group (he also got his ticket later than the others). After falling, I was something like 'omg, why isn't he saying anything?!'. The next morning I asked him why he didn't react in some way so I would know he was fine, and he just told me he didn't realize what was going on, so he went back to sleep... :-/
