JUNPEI [ 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors ]
When Clover first met Junpei, he didn't exactly catch her attention - until she yelled at him and June to leave her alone while they were looking for Snake, who had suddenly gone missing. When they were together in the operating room, Clover found herself revealing her feelings about her brother's disappearance and how she could be "next" if he was dead. That was when he showed her the clover bookmark that reminded her of faith, hope, love and luck. And that wasn't all. Junpei dropped a crucial hint that radically turned the tables of her outlook, and the spark of hope within Clover was ignited. Sure, it was accidental and for a moment Junpei thought he just made things worse, but it was enough for her to be grateful to him, to appreciate what he has done. Not only that, he's pretty good with puzzles, and is a nice guy who sometimes shares her odd trains of thought. He just has to watch what he says around her...for one thing, she doesn't appreciate being compared to his "crazy" Teddiursa. In any case, Junpei is the second most important person to Clover, among the participants of the Nonary Game, because he had helped her out when she was at her lowest point. She feels like paying him back, even...and not just in friendly conversation.
SEVEN [ 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors ]
Seven is another guy who turned out to be much more than Clover initially thought. She may tease him the most, and she may not agree with him all the time, but he was the detective who saved her brother, the Kurashiki siblings and the other children from the ship during the first Nonary Game, so she knows he's not all that bad. Far from it - he's definitely one of the good guys in her book. If anyone says otherwise, she'd actually stand up for him. Not that Clover would openly admit this. Still, she swears she doesn't quite understand him every now and then. Seriously, who would name an Igglybuff Ham? Or get an Igglybuff just because he thought it would be buff? Seven can either be amusing or just...downright...odd. In an annoying way.
LOTUS [ 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors ]
Lotus can be blunt and so levelheaded that she may come off as a little heartless, but Clover understands why she had to be that way, now that she can look back at a time when Lotus seemed like a grim executioner even though the latter was only trying to hatch a plan for the greater good. Anyway, the younger girl can always hit back with a crack of her own if she has to. Compared to the other participants of the Nonary Game, Clover feels that she knows about Lotus' background the least. She'd like to get to know her better, really.
JUNE [ 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors ]
And then there was awkward. A lot of awkward. June and Clover didn't talk to each other much during the Nonary Game, but they share a lot in common. For one thing, they both have big brothers who will protect them no matter what, and they have participated in the first Nonary Game, albeit on different sides. Now that everything is over, Clover knows why June and Santa did what they did. At least June was safe. Even if they'll probably have to do time for their crimes when they get back home. In the end, Clover doesn't...hate June at all. They get along just fine despite all the things they leave unsaid. She knows what June has been through and doesn't begrudge her for anything...and is happy to know that she and Junpei are now officially dating. Clover thinks Junpei would be a much bigger help to June.
SANTA [ 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors ]
Clover is less awkward around Santa, probably because one of the first things she did upon arriving in Johto was yell at him for everything that had happened. She never really liked him much, what with his abrasive attitude and his cynical outlook on things, but she ended up liking him even less when she found out that he was also behind the Nonary Game, as "Zero"'s henchman. Now, she doesn't approve of what he and his sister did - after all, Clover and her brother and other people got caught up in everything too - but she sympathizes with both of them, knowing full well that if she had been in June's place, Snake would pull out all the stops for her - although she's quite sure he wouldn't resort to setting up another Nonary Game. What keeps Clover from completely hating Santa is his love for his sister, and how he left that clover bookmark around for Junpei to find and give to her.
SNAKE [ 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors ]
Snake is Clover's older brother, and to say that she's very fond of him and that they get along very well would be understatements. She will do anything for him, make sure he's okay and protect him if she has to, even if she knows that despite his blindness and his prosthetic arm, he can fend for himself just fine. Though they don't look similar, their bond speaks volumes and Clover would give heaven and earth for him, and would go to any lengths for his sake. When he disappeared during the Second Nonary Game, she was devastated, and when everyone believed him to be dead, she spiraled into depression that would have resulted in a break from sanity had Junpei not intervened and reminded her about faith, hope, love and luck. Even though that was most probably all part of the plan to save June, that was clearly Clover's least favorite part of the ordeal, something she would really rather not go through. So when Clover turned up in Johto, it's not surprising that one of the first things she did was ask for him, and was more than glad to see that he was there too. Snake was also there to save her from the Shedinja that had taken her to a nightmare world and to care for her while she recovered, and Clover was sure that her days in Johto were brighter because he was around to train and explore with her. However, when he left, leaving her with a note, a four-leaf clover, his Skitty and his Gabite, Clover was in tears, but knew that he would be all right, and tried her best to keep moving, as he would have wanted her to do. After all, she has faith, hope, love and luck on her side.
ACE [ 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors ]
Like almost everyone else who first met him, Clover thought that Ace was a kind old man who had been willing to take the fall once during the Nonary Game, who kept a cool head and helped everyone do the same. Even though he had a tendency to barge in whenever he wasn't...quite needed. However, Clover's first impression of him was proven wrong when Ace's true identity was finally revealed - Gentarou Hongou, the mastermind behind the first Nonary Game, in which Clover, Snake, June and Santa were also involved. He turned out to be a selfish man who would do anything for his own goals, even if it meant placing others in danger. Not only that, he had no qualms about disposing of his own former colleagues, even though technically, Santa and June were pulling the strings during these events, and he had played into their hands as well. While Clover doesn't condone killing or the Second Nonary Game, she cannot deny that Ace is dangerous and hates him for what he has done. Here in Johto, she has no intentions of running into him or anything, although she does talk to him from time to time - to make fun of him, mostly. And to yell at him. Really, they aren't exactly friends, so why on earth would he leave his Eevee with her? Odd.
CROSS-CANON
MILES EDGEWORTH [ Ace Attorney ]
One of the reasons why Clover was drawn to Miles was because of his similarities to Snake, her brother - from looks down to attitude. Of course, she knows that Miles and Snake are different people, and indeed they are. For one thing, the boy is not as open as Snake is, coming off as distant at times, with a tendency to act far older than he really is. At first, Clover was more concerned with pressing him to have fun and actually act his age, but after exchanging stories with him about their respective pasts, she feels that she understands why he's this way. For a youngster, Miles has been through a lot, and is about to go through more as he studies to become a prosecutor - and though that future is a long way away, he has learned so much about it already from the people who have come and gone from Johto. Clover has offered to help him ease his burden by being there for him as much as she can - sort of like a big sister - especially after he and Ken invited her to join them after Snake left. Miles may not be as attached to Clover as she is to him, but she can't help but try her best to reach out to him and make sure he's okay.
KEN AMADA [ Persona 3 ]
Yet another kid who won't act his age - for good reason. He's Miles' best friend, and though Clover doesn't know too much about how they met in Johto (well, she knows a thing or two, but yeah), she knows that the two boys are almost as close to each other as Clover is to Snake. Unlike with Miles, Clover stumbled upon Ken's past when both of them had been spirited away by the Shedinja, although she has not brought it up in front of Ken since. She finds herself also making sure Ken is okay, talking to him and basically once again becoming some sort of big sister figure, reminding him that he's still a kid with a long way to go, and he should really just act his age. They've also had their moments too...when Miles was electrocuted by a homicidal Mareep, Ken and Clover shared their mutual worry for him, and she has also told Ken that even though he really is only a kid, that doesn't mean he can't do anything. After all, he's done quite enough for both her and Miles.
