don't worry, we hardly ever get giant hamsters here

Lately I've been wanting more and more to have some sort of pet. I hear about someone who's gotten a cat, and my inner little girl goes "kitty! kittykittykittykitty!!!". Sometimes the inner little girl gets control of the rest of me, and I say it, too. Much to the amusement of the S.O.. Of course it wouldn't have to (and probably shouldn't) be ( Read more... )

Yay Wrimo buddy! Honestly I really don't think I'll make 50k this year seeing as I'm already totally stressed, but you never know... :) It'll be fun either way. What are you going to write about?

I have three ideas right now, and I'm trying to pick one in time to flesh it out before the 1st. The first is a retelling of 'Beauty and the Beast,' where Beauty has Stockholm syndrome. The second would be more sci-fi- space colonists develop weird 'magical' abilities after a few generations of living on another planet. And last but not least, I could give last year's story another shot- a gifted young mermaid must save her world from a magically created plague. Any suggestions?

When hanging something heavy (or really anything, ideally) make sure you find the wall stud! It's the vertical piece of wood that supports the drywall, should be every two feet or so (I think, just bang on the wall to find the not-hollow places). Put the nail in that, not just the drywall, which won't support it.

I completely agree with you on the cat. I'm officially allergic, but while I have problems with my cat at home, I had none with the five that belong to my sister's roommates. But I want one! However, stability and larger living space are needed before that happens. Plus, I'd have to figure out the loyalty conflict with the cat I already have at home (I think of her as mine, even if, gulp, I don't really live there anymore). Until then, I pine.

I doubt two PT jobs would be difficult. Just don't go too much over 40h/week and you'll be fine.

On the other hand, working only 20 at Game Stop might hurt your chances to become a manager. I DON'T KNOW THIS FOR A FACT AT ALL, so if I'm wrong someone please tell me, but that's my gut instinct. Don't know if it really matters to you though.

The library does sound more "you," though.
