I still love how you're so black and white about it. Why not have an informal dinner? Like...a cocktail party of sorts? I dunno, just an idea.

But here's the 'plothole' in your plan. Where does the couple eat supper? Are you planning on taking her through a Micky D's drive thru now that she's stuck with you? lol. You ARE a cheap Menno, just admit it.

head table gets dinner after the wedding pictures and shows up when the party is in full swing, or something like that...I haven't thought about all of this, lol

I just think that yes, your plan is neat and saves money but..it looks just as cheap as it is, haha. Imagine if you went to Kristen's wedding, in Calgary, went to the ceremony, got ditched for a meal, and then showed up halfway through a social, full of people that don't know each other? Wouldn't you have felt weird walking into the par-tay not knowing anyone? People go to the reception because they want to see the couple, not to meet new randoms. If people go for the couple, and the couple isn't there for a big chunk of it, people feel jipped.

OK, so I've been to five weddings in my life so far (two of them my siblings...*tear*) and here's what I think:
You're wrong.

Hahaha, alright, let me elaborate. I don't agree with the 'no big supper' plan. It doesn't work for me, since I know I for one need to eat constantly. My brother's wedding, I believe, was really well done. What we did was, we had a dinner, and then rehearsal with all the main players the day before (of course), and then the Big Day, we had the wedding, and then Ty and Tamara did pictures by themselves, so we (the wedding party) went for snack at Moxie's, and then went to the golfcourse, where the reception was. There was a big lunchish thing, and speeches, but no alcohol, since Tamara's side of the family is mostly Seventh-Day Adventists (a branch of Christianity...a distant branch...). It was very nice, and worked well, although their wedding cake was inedible, due to some weird form of icing that tasted like ass ( ... )

Wow...

As of right now, I feel like the only girl on the planet without a wedding fully planned out. As of now, my wedding is going to have a bride and a groom, in a church, with rings, and an A-line dress, lol. That's it. I think I was supposed to be a boy...
