Fuck you tsn Fuck you Fshaw and fuck you anyone else who has now turned their backs on our team. Guess what shit happens teams win and lose everyday, but turning your back on them and calling them traitors just because they didnt live up to your expectations of them is a lil much i think. Perhaps they were worried about hurting themselves, wouldnt you be sure its a gret honour to play for team canada, to play for your country, but at the same time the Olympics happen once every 4 years, they have to go back to their day jobs. Just because we are expected to win every year dose not mean that every year we will. Things should have been done diffrently yes but guess what its to late for that now so get over it and show a little respect for your fellow canadians.
I think when you're a favorite to win gold, when the team is stacked with PROFESSIONAL players, it's disappointing to go out this early.
Do you really think Aaron's turning his back on Canadian hockey? C'mon now. Nearly everyone on my msn list has a name concerning their disappointment in hockey, so deal.
I don't care if they 'don't want to go out there and get hurt' that's their JOB. If they were scared of getting hurt, they wouldn't be hockey players. Their job is to go out there and give 100% without hesitation. If they can't commit to doing that, then they should have turned down their offer to go to the olympics. Do you think Ariel ski jumpers, speedskaters or snowboarders have been holding back for fear of injury? I watched a woman blow her knee out on arials last night. Good for her, she gave it 100%.
Team Canada shouldn't be ashamed of being eliminated. They should be ashamed of half-assing it. That and being coached by Pat Quinn.
Someone blew her knee out?? OUCH OUCH AND MORE OUCH.
Yeah...they'll go to the Olympics, and then go back to their day jobs....HOCKEY. They don't work in offices or gas stations when they're not at the Olympics. That is the pinnacle of sport. People don't yawn and shrug when they get to go to the Olympics.
Bah. What more kind of opportunity would you ask for if you could excel at sports, Brad?
Im not making excuses for any one but... im gonna say right now honestly as much of an honour as it woudl be to play for team canada i wouldnt want to get hurt out their cause oh i dunno i have to go back to my MULTI-MILLION dollar contract. Thats right im for sale if i thought for one second while on the ice that i could get hurt and would in turn put my contract in jeopardy would i hold back? yes. and i never said fshaw turned his back on canadian hockey but calling team canada a bunc of trators id a lil much i think
Fuck you tsn Fuck you Fshaw and fuck you anyone else who has now turned their backs on our team. Yeah, you kind of did say that 'fshaw' turned his back on Canadian Hockey
( ... )
The played with no intensity. That makes them traitors. What Kaeleigh said is right, when you go to the olympics you don't just shrug your shoulders and say "oh well". This is the Olympic games and if they didn't want to step up and play at a level that is worthy of the Olympiad then they should have declined the invitation. Steve Yzerman played on a bum knee, lead the 2002 Canadian Team to the Gold Medal, then went back to the Red Wings and lead them to a Stanley Cup. That guy is a leader and a player that would have been welcome on this team. Some of the guys on the current team are more talented, but they showed no heart. What you said about going back to their multi-million dollar contracts has oone flaw...They're GUARENTEED! If they get hurt playing their hearts out, there's the glory of the olympic games, as well as a fat payday and a top notch medical rehabilitation staff to get them back into shape. But again, if you don't want to play at that level, don't go.
Ahh yes, it's that time of year again Aaron and many of my other friends are on their rag. I'm going to go out with the girls now until your Aunt Flo has left town.

Thankfully im not alone here im sure that ian can agree(not that im trying to drag you in with me lol) but its just a fucking game we lost big deal is canada going to go into a recession? no why because its a game that happens once every 4 years that everyone over hypes back in the day the olympics meant somthing you fought for the honour of your country today who ever can hide the performance enhancers the best wins Fuck the olympics and fuck all of you

Oh for shit's sakes. Stop taking everything so literally. He posted about something that matters to him, but I doubt it means that since the Canada men's hockey team lost that Aaron, and everyone else who likes hockey, will just lie down and die. I'm more than sure he's probably gotten over the team losing...like most people. So now YOU get over it. Fuck.
Re: Moon TimeolieflattsFebruary 23 2006, 04:59:29 UTC
I am over it..infact it was never an issue with me in the first place. what i had an issue with was the fact that everyone is up in arms about the loss, I know no one is actually going to lay down and die over it but it annoys me when for the 24 hours after that all i hear about.
Nicely said. I wrote this seconds after the loss and I was pissed at the effort I saw out of them. It's a game and it's over. Hell, I don't even like hockey that much, lol
