The city was crazy. Jason knew that. Horror-movie fog and Dracula vampires that weren't a damn thing like the ones back home and God knew what else all over the damn place. What the hell was a guy supposed to do?
There was a reason Jason was in a bar with a cold beer in his hand. Least some things never changed.

She frowned in thought wondering how she could have gotten this wrong. Oh well, it was a pub and at least Watanuki should be safe enough if he had made it to Mac's since clearly he wasn't here. She strode up to the bar and plopped down near Jason, "It's no fun to drink alone you know."

Right then and there, Jason's night got a whole lot better.
"Nope, don't think it is," he replied to her confused pronouncement. "Beer ain't bad, though."
Her sitting next to him and talking was icing on the cake, or maybe eye candy on the cake, or maybe both. "Yeah, I know," he replied. "Tough part's finding someone good to drink with, though I don't think that's a problem anymore. Now lemme guess," and he looked at her thoughtfully - thoughtful as he ever got, at least, "you like those real fancy drinks with the little umbrellas in 'em."

The bartender obligingly slid two frosted mugs full of brew down the bar. Jason caught them expertly and passed one over to the woman. "Now I know this city ain't a normal place to end up in," he started. "So if you don't mind my askin', what's a girl like you doin' in a place like this?
