For The Dresden Files, I highly suggest watching the TV show instead of reading the books. Shorter, funnier, and less of the strange, out of the blue 'chivlary' type things. Ignore the reuse of the little kid in the first episode, and the glaring plot holes about who he can and can't tell about his wizard status and you're ducky. >.> (also, magic hockey stick! Heee.) Tv-links.co.uk has most of the episodes.

Heee THEY ARE SO MARRIED. And adorable, and crazy. <3 I wish there was more good fic for their strange, demented family dynamic.

Will's read the first book and is going to read the next three when he's finished two Honor Harrington books and three oldschool Star Wars books and I talked to him today and was like "OKAY, I KNOW YOU'RE SMARTER THAN THIS...BUT PLEASE REALIZE JIM BUTCHER IS AN IDIOT."

And in the third book? (I think?) A priest character thinks someone is having a seizure and attempts to put something in their mouth so the victim won't swallow their tongue. I went "ARGH!" and flung the book across the room. >_o And then of course ran to go pick it up and read some more. Young Frankenstein reference in the second book, I highly approve.
