Today I went to Taco Bell for lunch and while I was filling my soda cup, one of the girls who worked there, grinning wildly, walked up to me awkwardly and said "HELLO!" I was taken aback and felt like I was in her way so I said, "Hi," and took a few steps to my right. I think it was that ever-present grin that made her look a bit "off," like she ( Read more... )

AHAHAHA THAT IS AMAZING! I know it scared you, but that rules!

I used to do things like that all the time at Barnes and Noble, especially when I was shelving. Talking and smiling and laughing to myself. It passed the time and none of the daft pregnant yuppie hussies bothered me for help, though that was merely a pleasant side-effect and not the ultimate aim.

In high school such alone-time/oblivious-to-other-people behaviour warranted my doctors asking if I was on speed and my classmates thinking I was some sort of drug addict. Which is funny because to this day, the only "recreational" drugs I have used/tried are alcohol and nicotine.

That happened to me once at Denny's. This guy was pissed though, you could tell. But he kept talking to himself as he was cleaning tables. Not just talking though, he looked like he was going to pull out a shot gun and kill everyone in the room.
