I've no brains for a caption, but may I tell you how much I like this? It's absolutely wonderful; I feel as if they're both a bit crotchety at each other, but are just about to bond over how much their companions make them uncomfortable, and a bit crazy, largely because they like them all despite their better judgement.
I had several takes on the background to this drawing in mind, but found I really rather wanted to know how it was coming across to others. I think Capaldi is giving a fine, subtly textured performance of a flawed man (not merely the Angry Eyebrows of Doom, but a man who is at odds with himself, especially in the wake of a very long, more decidedly happy incarnation).
I like your thoughts on Twelve; although Eleven's time had some deep and sorrowful difficulties, I think you are right about it being, on the whole, a decidedly happy incarnation.
